Major kudos jerr and terr. This new package is really sweet. When you consider everything, pound for pound, this is the best deal out there.
After updating QT time setting do not work at all. It always displaying Pre and After market no matter what I do, and always set to "US equities" Software doesn't respond to any change in Multy-Day Timeframes. I will appreciate any help.
Balda, The preferences screen configured defaults, but only where no other setting is set by the given site configuration. to turn off the pre/post market showing, right click on the chart, and select the VIEW menu - the setting is in there and its chart specific. As for US Equities - you must be trying to change it in the OPTIONS/Edit Preferences, Charts/Multi-day. Wrong place. On the chart you will find an auto-hide tool-bar. move the mouse over it (its in one of the corners) and it will show up. On it, click on the yellow clock button. You will get a menu showing you the currently selected timeframe and other available timeframes that you can select. NOTE: The default timeframes should be OK. We did setup auto timeframe setting for many major futures, though not all. If the symbol you are using is getting defaulted to US Equities and shouldn't, configure a new timeframe, then select it on the chart. Once its set the way it should be, email us with the exact symbol, the quote source you are using, and what the correct time settings should be (including the time zone that you referencing the time in) and we will set it up as the default timeframe for that symbol so others will not have to go through the steps. If you have further problems, just email us and we will get you set up. Jerry Medved http://www.quotetracker.com
I know I mentioned it a few time on various message boards (you aren't the first one to ask ) Basically, we make money from registrations, affiliate arrangements with datafeed vendors, brokers, etc, licensing and advertisement. The ads used to be a huge revenue source. So much so that when we started, we actually discouraged registrations . Those days are gone. At this point, the ads are basically there as an annoyance factor to encourage registrations. They do add some revenue, but only a fraction of what it used to be. We try to get QuoteTracker to as many people as possible. The more people use it even without registering, the more will register it, subscribe to datafeeds and/or use brokers with which we have affiliate arrangements with. (and no, we don't have such arrangements with all the sites QT supports). We look at the long term - if we give good support, and provide an excellent product, that person will stick with QT and will tell others. We don't do much advertising. Most of our users heard about us from a friend, or on message boards like this one. Giving high end support is one way to get people to remember you Speaking of which (support) - we don't have phone support. We find that we can handle drastically more support requests and much faster via email and message boards. The biggest problem is getting people to email the first time instead of banging their head against the wall trying to fix the problem themselves for days, and then emailing us as a last resort. They are used to getting a reply to support email in days or weeks from other vendors, so they don't bother. That tends to change after the first encounter. I used the sliding window scale today, and it was great! I second all of the positive feedback about customer service, it is the best customer service I have ever had. Now if we could just get the ability to graph pairs (as in SPY-3QQQQ) I would be set.
Quick question. When my computer crashes or freezes up and I restart the computer...I lose all my chart settings that take about 20 minutes to set up. I save them in templates but after a crash...they are no longer there and I need to start from scratch. Could anyone tell me where I can save them so they are not lost when I reboot? Thanks
The info in question is stored in CHARTS.INI file in QT folder. You can back that up. However, it really should not be getting lost, even on a crash unless the file gets corrupted when the computer crashes. If running Windows 2000 or XP, make sure the file system is NTFS - its more resilient to corruption
