Linda Raschke had a collection of trading rules which you probably can get for free. Some are contradictory, but that doesn't necessarily negate their usefulness. Every so often one will pop into my head, like "It's easier to put on a position than it is to take it off". I need to dig them out and reread.
Maybe on youtube there so many video tutorial if we want to seeking information, about psychology I think that will make better is our own selves, with keep discipline with rules trading and money management
All have their differences and tastes, I drink Peppermint tea to calm the stomach, but I have a disease that is like luggage called Sarcoidosis, and I need coffee and plenty of it to stay awake. You drink energy drinks too many, you be in the grave as not good for the heart. Meditation is very easy to do and I think it impossible not to do it, day dreaming is a form of it. I do much visual meditation, I see myself performing well and repeating same patterns.
The Mark Douglas books are excellent as well as Steenbarger but a far less know one is Yvan Byeajee's Paradigm Shift which I can highly recommend. Yvan also encourages meditation as a valuable practice for the trader.
Someone actually mentionned there are different flavours of meditation (including the risks of falling in some "meditation" sects ). So choosing the type of meditation, and the organization one's does it is important. As there are different types of meditation, there are different type of outcomes . From one type of meditation I have experienced and seen more than 70 people experience as well over the last few years, I'd say, meditation helps in identifying physical and mental programmings, or the physical and mental subconscious "software" one keeps running. Then one is free to choose to continue running these mental, emotional and physical programming, or to choose other one. Most often than not, the most destructive programmings were kind of installed subconsciously during unfavorable life events. For traders the benefits are obvious. If one keeps repeating the same mistake over and over again, some type meditation will get one to the root cause of it and actually wipe this out sometimes after a mere 10 days retreat. Then it is about handling one's laundry list of mistakes, with patience and determination. The other thing I have noticed, is trading actually brings real clarity on how to move forward. If a trader is really unclear about what to do to improve one's trading, a good retreat will highlight one big thing to work on. One poster was scarred of meditation because of fear of facing up, relieving negative life experiences. It is absolutely true that some type of meditation will actually help you to face these up at the deepest level of your mind and body, and you will be relieving these in amplified ways. This is why a safe and well structured surrounding is important, as being honest with the reality of these experiences can lead some people to "lose it" is the setting is not well organized. Some meditation major outcome will be to face these up, so as to wipe out every negative programming linked to these unfavorable experiences. So one is at least given a choice of living one's life without having to bother with the negative effects of these experiences. Yes it can be scarry, but the reward are worth it. Some compared trading to dieting and exercising, with the obesity problem referred to. The few obese I have come across seem to have mental/psychological barriers to getting into regular exercising and dieting, let alone total fasting. I would suspect, some right kind of meditation would allow the person to discover the psychological reasons that blocks from exercising regularly or dieting. I only have good words about meditation. Specially for trading. As I can now get back into trading, and I am preparing myself for it, my aim is to manage five hours daily ( 2, 1, 1, 1) before starting putting actual trades, and during. I did not know about meditation 3 years ago. I only tried it, and the center recommended to me, because I asked someone how I could improve my trading and the person suggested the given type of meditation center. I could have dismissed the advice, but my policy was to do what it takes, and to remember I do not know everything.
I think if always trained daily to meditation, it will also help to get healthy from inside, in healthy soul will safe healthy body, and meditation also can so it with sitting and manage breath rythm regularly and slowly, it will help to trained concentration
Regarding actual meditation, can anyone recommend me any information sources about teaching me how to do it properly?
