I was always interested in that, especially as I get up in age - looks gentle but still good for the body. Do you do it, or are you just asking?

I tried Yoga before, but they put me through a workout and it isn't something I want to do on a regular basis. Now that I have the meditation down, I would like something to supplement it physically.

  4. Actually it's one pdf, about 50 pages long. But it's also a few dozen posts with daily instructions/information and blurbs (for lack of a better word) that reinforce and try to motivate you. For me, it worked well. Considering you can pay TM thousands of dollars, and you can waste a lot of time reading books and websites but never really get to the execution part, I think $21 is a pretty cheap price especially considering the time savings (it lays everything out for you in a pretty simple manner - you just have to follow it).

I emailed the people (person) doing it twice, and they responded to me within a few hours each time. They are extremely helpful, and once you buy it you get updates free - so, if they add something in 10 years, you don't have to pay anything for it. If I were them I would charge for every new release, but I'm more financially oriented.

  5. What are Binaural beats and Isochronic beats. Any website to try them free? Do they help? Thanks

  6. Never tried them. I prefer not to have to depend on anything when I meditate - no guided meditations, no external audios.

I want to be able to do it anytime, anywhere. Just my opinion. meditationshift.com just has you repeat a mantra (actually a sound/word), the other method I toyed with was the breath, but the mantra is definitely easier to stick with.

I agree with you here. Never got much out of guided or binaural beats.

Not sure if anyone still reads this thread, but the person who created meditationshift.com wrote a post I just read on Medium.

Side note - is anyone else still trying to figure out what Medium is? I mean, I know the Twitter founders created it, but is it supposed to take the place of blogging? I've read some good articles there on different subjects, but for the life of me I don't understand why I should make it a place to go and check every day. Right now I go to it if someone tweets a link, but that's it.

Back to meditation - the article is "My journey with meditation. And, why you should do it too." I found it quite funny and representative of my first few experiences.

Buyer beware: I made the mistake of purchasing his meditationSHIT...er, meditationSHIFT course.

The first tipoff that I was in for a ride: The "nondisclosure agreement" threatening prosecution "to the fullest extent of the law" (to be read in the voice of that martian from the old Bugs Bunny reels) should one divulge any of meditationSHIFT's Super Sekret techniques, like closing your eyes and repeating some nonsense mantra a few times a day. (Oh shit! Did I just break the non-disclosure?! Are the cops on their way?!?!)

In all seriousness, I found nothing in this course I couldn't have found googling "meditation." From what I can see, MeditationSHIFT offers no added value. It is, in my opinion, a ripoff.

I see they don't offer a refund, so I'll try to secure a chargeback on my credit card.
