Your thoughts on Obama's passage of mental health/gun control proposal and Trump's withdrawal of the aforementioned?

I don’t know that your claims that similarly situated Asians and Indians commit less crime than black and Hispanic persons are accurate. Are you sure there is a statistically significant deviation among these populations?

There’s also wild calls on the right that we should treat our schools like prisons with armed guards and bolted classroom doors like they’re prison cells.

If you’re going to focus on what the fringe wants then you will be stuck not getting anything done and if you actually believe the fringe is the mainstream then you’re going drive yourself to extremist beliefs.

Licensing firearm owners would help prevent school shootings. School shootings are an example of how powerful a weapon guns really are and how reckless we are as country in regulating guns.

Just the never ending murder of children en masse like clockwork is disgusting and the fact that nra goes into communications blackout every time one happens shows how culpable they are for the loose laws that allow for easy access to guns.

I don't fully remember the legislation. If you wish to link me to it I'd be happy to give you my honest thoughts.

Fringe? Are you sure you want to claim that only fringe democrats are calling for gun bans?

How will licensing firearm owners, assuming they all agree to it which is a stretch since I showed you a perfect example of the NY SAFE act which literally everyone in the state ignored, prevent school shootings?

Yes, it's all the NRA's fault. *rolls eyes*

These are not good responses. Try harder to make more thoughtful points.

So you can't answer the questions and are looking for a way to bow out, is that it? If you are unable to continue, just say so. We can stop. I'm not looking to cause you pain.

    1. Are you claiming that only fringe democrats are calling for gun bans? Or did I misunderstand your claim?

    2. How will licensing firearm owners, assuming they all agree to it which is a stretch since I showed you a perfect example of the NY SAFE act which literally everyone in the state ignored, prevent school shootings?

You’re causing boredom by making weak points. Again, you’re arguing against regulations that work across the world. We have empirical evidence showing that gun laws like licenses and registration reduce gun violence.

It’s not a debate over whether regulations work, they do, it’s a debate over whether republicans are willing to let all the death and violence continue.

I just gave you empirical evidence of how, right here at home in NY State, a law requiring gun owners to register failed miserably. And you claim this works across the world, in countries where gun ownership isn't anything comparable to the US.

It is absolutely a debate over whether regulations work. You just don't have the answers any more than anyone else has, but yet pretend "its so simple" if we would just do it. If that is boring to you, I suggest you pick a discussion you can debate better. There are plenty of them on this forum for you to choose from.

It’s not a debate at all. You’re just looking to poke holes and point out imperfections as a justification for inaction.

Gun regulations do work. When guns can come into your state without any regulation and sold there’s only so far a state law can go.

I respect your right to be indifferent I’d rather you just argue the truth of yours actual beliefs, even if you don’t recognize your own truth. You have no care for people harmed by guns.

The murders, the wounded, the paralyzed, the grieving families mean nothing to you. In your mind you have no connection to these people and their pain means nothing to you.
