When the talking heads explain a move in the market as a result of "short covering", is there a quantifiable statistic that one can check to see if this is true? Or is this just an excuse when there are no news stories to justify the move? Thanks for your thoughts...
1) Look for "large" rallies that take place with "lighter" volume. 2) Look for rallies that barely re-trace themselves.
