I have 850K purse cash sitting in different one year CDs like CIT, Syncrony bank and I am making 1.25% per year. If you know any investment who absolutely no risk which gives me 2% a year and is liquid, I am all ears. (my point is such an investment does not exist. Even for CD, they don't guarantee over 250K. So when I get into a trade, I know the risk.
In terms of MCD, just sit back back and relax and see how I will make money out of it. The problem is that when the stock goes against me you call me moron and when I make money, you call me lucky. Make your mind. Call me genius when I make money if you want to call me moron if my trade goes against me.

Good point. My long term view on MCD is "extinct". However I never short a stock and let it go. I sell PUT. Actually the situation that you mentioned has happened before. I have sold PUT and the shares were assigned and then I sold Call (look at the history of my trades).

MCD remains one of the most popular eateries around the globe, how can a popular brand be extinct or do you mean long view like Volpunter's market call, no time line, just like when gypsy reads a hand, are you talking about 5, 20 or maybe 100 years?

I strongly disagree. Most available/accessible ? yes but Most popular? No.

You heard that MCD had an impressive results this quarter and analysts were amazed. Well, check out my snapshots from their earnings. I have not made up those numbers. US sales is up 0.9% (noise) and revenue and earnings are all down in the last quarter and last 9 months. earning is up because of tax related issues and not because of sales. I have highlighted the parts. You are the judge.

Price is king. Have you tried trading based on fundamentals ignoring price behaviour? Futile mate, futile.

So 22% correction is a bit? Great forecast Asiaprop!

    volpunter said on 24th August:

Why does it matter at all whether the event is coined a "Black Swan"? Should not matter at all.

We will correct a bit but I am steadfastly convinced that we will see more downside, this was the proverbial top the market has put in and the fast selloff reflects how many have realized that this is not just a short term dip. The market has enjoyed paper profits for now 6 years (since 2009) and the end has come. Every party has to come to an end and we will now all pay the price for easy money that flooded even the dumbest ventures and businesses. This is not a China story, it is a GLOBAL STORY, the same has occurred everywhere. We will from now on see how harmful this money injection really is. I will never forget Jim Rogers when he voiced his total disagreement with the decision in the US to flood the market with money rather than weeding out the weakest and starting over with strong businesses. He did not just talk, no, he took his hat, his daughters out of school, and moved to Singapore.

What we need is a much further sell off, it can be slow and controlled, I do not mind. But I welcome this correction and while I do not wish a lot of people to get burned, I do wish that the balloon will explode and all that hot air vanishes.

That is exactly why I am shorting it. Because this king is a puppet. I will patiently wait for this king to topple when the rotten smell of bad results become overwhelming. Meanwhile I will keep chipping away some profit by trading options while I am well aware of the risk and I cannot reduce the risk to zero.
So you agree their result was not "IMPRESSIVE" ?
