I can understand how Americans would like to think the rest of the world hates them due to envy, but it simply isn't true. When we see overweight cowboys spouting their opinions as gospel, we don't think "Boy, I wish we were more like them." When we see your politicians such as Sarah Palin, Obama, and Bush on TV, we don't think "Boy, I wish out politicians behaved more like them." www.usdebtclock.org - We are not envious.
If only we were more intolerant of other people's cultures! It certainly is wrong to make our citizens feel comfortable...
A different poster said Canada's main problem was it's multiculturalism from immigration. I sarcastically replied that we should be more intolerant towards our citizens' individual cultural beliefs.
Of course you don't. Matt7:3 comes to mind. "And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?" as if our debt were somehow proportionally more of a problem and a result of not following the socialized (primarily european) policies.
This is where I end the conversation. The minute someone starts quoting bible verses I know I shouldn't be here.
You were the fool trying to use national debt as a reason for others to not be envious of the US. Which is outright laughable concerning the state of affairs elsewhere throughout the globe, esp steeped in socialism europe.
