I think it is very likely that the Russians will test an obviously inexperienced Obama just as the Soviets tested an inexperienced JFK. They also tested Jimmy Carter. Like any predator, they can smell weakness and are emboldened by it. This is the flip side of my concern with McCain. They know not to fuck around with McCain, just like they knew not to test Reagan. No one but the most aggressive and oppressive of leaders in the world hope that McCain gets elected. Russia has improved relations greatly with the rest of the world, and there is nothing to gain for them that could justify hoping for McCain to win. Not for russian military interests, nor for those still clinging to the old socialist ideals. The world really needs a very different international policy from the US now, or things will get much worse for everyone. Economic stimulus is needed - and warmongers is not the answer for world prosperity or capitalist principles.
