No point stressing over something you can't control. You need to be confident with your entries and exit contingencies, check from time to time when the money's coming in or if you have to take a loss because the turn around is too long.
I asked him Why the stress? What are you afraid of? I'm willing to bet if he is honest that it will come back to some of the top reasons that traders fail.
I’m not afraid of anything. I’ve just come to realize that I stress out overnight when I’m holding open positions. Don’t overthink this it’s a very simple observation that I’ve made of my psychology. And so when I’m daytrading and I’m flat at the end of the day I don’t have to deal with that. Don’t make things more complicated than they are and don’t assume you know what somebody is going through
This Newbie ^^^ is pretty smart, listen to him. A strong Close means the odds of a strong Opening are greater, usually.
Thank you I appreciate that. I don’t really need to know why I stressed out overnight I just need to know that I do. And I’ve already found the solution. Don’t have Trades held overnight.
I'm a big fan of 24/7 trading on the US markets and for all brokerages to allow it. That too would/will affect how we all trade.
All right everybody. It looks like in general all the comments are trying to convince me that something is wrong with me because I stress out overnight. No way am I gonna believe that nobody else does that. But anyway it doesn’t matter everybody’s gotta find their own way and for me I can’t have high risk positions open overnight. Somebody just mentioned Coca-Cola as a stock to worry about overnight if you’re warren Buffett. No I don’t worry about my long-term investments but that’s a whole different ball game. Those are much lower risk assets than the stuff that we trade short term
Hello Jdesey, Yes, day trading is far easier than overnight swing trading. Rich traders only day trade.
