No, I obviously wasn't. But the big money backing these guys after last year's competition were. By the way TST would do much better if they relaxed some of their rules... Also, the prize money is "slightly" better than TST's: The prize money consists of $80 000: First place - $40 000 Second place - $25 000 Third place - $15 000 Do you think they would pay that much for systems that don't work in real life?
Are they backing you or just giving you prize money? I was under the impression they are just giving away the prize money. And in return they get thousands of new guys hooked on FX which they will make 10 times the prize money they are giving away. It's a great deal for them. Do you have any idea how much money those bucket shops make? LOL. That's charity money they are giving away. Everyone of those guys will open an FX account and piss away their life savings.
And since it's free to participate AND there is a cash prize, these guys have the incentive to swing for the fences just like in those CNBC trading challenges where the winner always has a 46,000% return. LOL. Yeah, he's building great trading habits for the long term.
Mav are you trying to be funded by TST, or are you not doing a combine? BTW it was me who restarted that post in the old Patak thread that caused the thousands of posts and several threads- now Mike and TST are forced to be on TST daily. I think I deserve an ET award for that.
1) ?......I can "infer" that the attrition rate is 60% to 67%.....PER MONTH! 2) That number should "cut into" those who are profitable during October on into November. We'll see.
It really doesn't matter what the rest is doing in the Combine or the automated competition, because the talent searchers are looking for the best. Sure, one who is in the top 10 after 1 month, can blow out in the next. That's why it is better to look at the list at the end, after 3 months of data. You can look up previous years in the automated competition. I was trying to find staying power. I have found 1 American, who finished in the top 10 twice, but this year he is down 45%. So much about staying power, but it is not over yet. For Mav: I think the top guys get offers via email and PMs from people who are interested in buying their systems or backing them....
All of those contest clowns are running like 10:1 risk. They shoot for 4-5 pips on the micro-chart and risk 40-50 (or more). It's not trading. It's a lottery which sole purpose is to bring fresh meat to the bucket shops.
so far this is one of the most effective posts on this thread...i have only read this far though from 10 2012.
