Nice job, Austinp. Thanks for posting your TST experience. Learned a lot seeing things through your eyes and through your posts. Good luck in the next round.
what were your total commissions on this combine ? did you meet the requirements to get a refund on the combine or did beans screw that up ?
Impossible...I call BS on you AustinP. Don't you use TA, goat entrails, and hoodoo to do what you do? LOL keep on just doing it my friend. Nice trading but I was wondering what possessed you to trade ZS alongside CL. Those two symbols are almost polar opposites. I'll see you over at your site.
To AustinP - I'm just reading a bit after posting on my personal bash Don Bright thread, still smiling. I want say to you that I think you have put up with a lot, and not only endured, but apparently have done really well. Good job, and I wish you the very best when you go with real money....knock them dead!! Don
Actually, ZS and CL often have a lot in common. When grain futures are moving, they can be equally volatile if not wild. Many sessions past and future the ZS offers +$500 to +$1,000 per contract trades. I just happened to run into a particularly rangebound, sideways period. In addition to that trying to focus on two symbols at once with scale-in entry tactics is a bit too much for me at my age in this game As noted before, I thought it was a good idea to work multiple symbols in the future, so I wanted to vest them now. Bad idea, bad decision... live & learn.
Don, that means a lot coming from you because I have the utmost respect for both you and your brother in this industry. As for the future? Anything is possible but I like my chances with CL alone. Today's downside continuation past the pit session open was good for +$2,650 (before costs) turning 5-lots. I caught the last downside break with 10 and out at 86.40, whereupon price action took that trade +$7,000 past my exit to the swing low. But hey... $2,000+ per day + more days than not = pretty decent long-term returns flipping 5-lots
#1: I don't know what the commissions total was... never paid any attention to it, as bottom line is all I cared about in this equation. I can look it up later and figure that out. #2: I screwed up that combine performance with beans. The fact that I failed to meet net-profitable status with ZS and likewise failed to close out at $162,000 overall negated the attempt. Anything is possible, but I'm pretty sure that won't be the case next time around
The number of contracts can be seen in parenthesis. So for the 3 days I saw numbers, the contracts were 90, 14, 90, 30, 25, 34 = 283. So that is 1.4 K in com. for 3 days, if I did it right. Interpolating it to 10 days, it was about 4.5K (educated guess)
