In other words, self insured. LOL! why anyone would give custody to any more than the bare minimum of funds required to a futures broker is a mystery.
Take it as you will, but I don't have time in the day to keep up with this thread. WHere are Mav and Surf at in terms of meeting Combine goals? Last I read one claimed he was close coming into the last day. I think that is great, but I would like to see both peoples numbers as I guess I was under the impression neither was close. Not a judgement, just a question. Hopefully not a waste of life , but I am only asking for the numbers. Why? because I think it is appropriate. I didn't get the impression that either was close to the goals, yet I think I have read in the past few posts that one is close if they can hit the Australian dollar today. I guess I missed a few posts, and am honestly ok with being corrected. I know some won't believe that, but I am all about honesty, and well beyond the b.s. of this business. Fell free to divert my questions, I think like politicians it lends to the negative viewpoint, but appeals to the masses. If I am wrong in what I have gathered from performance please correct me, but I haven't seen that either has met profitability objectives. Peace
...count is different for everyone. Depends on how you have set it up. I only have 44 for example. But anyhow, for taclander's sake, Surf finished with -3.2K and Mav has 1 day left and is about break even.
Excellent day for day-trading. 1st day of new CL contract (Dec) delivered the 300+ cent range we predicted two days ago. Nice trend moves in CL and NQ... they both threw out free money like candy off floats at a holiday parade. But I managed to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory thru sheer stupidity and nothing else. Booked +$4,400 in CL by the first leg down, then turned my attention to the ZS. Figured after yesterday's total wedgefest there is would offer a nice straight swing, I'd balance out performance over there in that symbol, and everything would be devine. Well, I'm not sure what happened in ZS this week but someone beat that tape with an ugly stick until the stick broke. Then they picked up the pieces and beat it some more. Absolutely chopped every contract I entered, long or short, didn't matter. It was an equal opportunity a** whipping in ZS for either direction, because there was none. At one moment this morning I was down -$600 ZS and in a trade that briefly flashed about +$800 unrealized. I clicked what I though was the "close positions" dump button to par out and finish, but instead I hit the "cancel orders" button and merely cleared stops. One keystroke error made the difference. After that, I tried to trade it back to zero and never made one inch of forward progress. So I ceased any further brain damage there and played give & take with CL from the afternoon lows. It channeled between 90.60 and 90.80 for two hours, false breaks either side. Finally popped a little, got me back near peak high for the day there and then v-turn dumped about -100 cents back down from there. ** So what should have been a $4,000+ day overall is half that. My choice to trade two symbols and specifically ZS here in this fashion has been a big mistake. Back out the ZS results overall and I'm near or at the +$12,000 profit goal. But reality doesn't get backed up, so I live with those judgement errors. Two sessions left, need a little less than +$7,000 to hit the mark for one qualification. My overall % correct trades was below 45% and took a hit from ZS struggles today. I'll be focused on CL alone from this point onward, pretty good chance I reach the profit target but not feeling good about % correct trades. As noted several times before, trading real money would have meant +$4,000 shutdown today with CL, before ZS ever opened for trading. But the combine rules are what they are, and my decisions in live action are what they were. See you Monday
Austin, you've taken a lot of crap on this site. I can't remember all the threads but from memory it seems you've been called every name in the book... phony, scammer, snake oiler, liar, etc, etc. Nice to see that you're producing profits so far. Congrats.
Austin, why keep messing around with beans? Seems like they have given you nothing but trouble on this Combine. You are smacking oil around like a madman, screw the beans man.
It was a poor decision on my part, in hindsight. I was looking ahead, planning on working several different symbols in the future. I did not realize a person can take separate combines at different times for different symbols, etc. Overall, piss-poor decision on my part. I'm extremely frustrated with my performance. Should easily be at +$12,000 or higher by now with CL solely. Today alone was good for waaaay more in CL than I booked. Decided to wage a knife fight with beans instead of keep shorting the expected, predicted trend session in CL. Live & learn
Hey nice job Austin. You have been beating oil with an ugly stick for a week now. Can you post your performance metrics for both Beans and Oil? It sucks if you miss the metrics on beans then it nulls the combine altogether. My best advice for anyone who wants to trade more then one product is probably do a combine for each individual product. That way you isolate the performance from each.
