  1. Really?

" Every entry will have strong odds of success and a huge positive expectancy"

    Sounds like bragging to me.

  3. ARDL

    ARDL

so are you saying that you don't have a real edge? or is this not a statement about your "price drivers".

  4. To be honest all the people who have been doing the Combine, specially in public like that really deserves our admiration. My wildest applause to you all , no matter your results.
This Combine seems to be very brutal in its transparency.
I can understand that few ET members are looking for some
    full transparency like that.
The experience seems to have really sensitize people who do combine about any "claims of grandeur".
... Man ... I have not yet booked myself. Now, it feels like I will practice beforehand the combine before any combine. :D

  6. NoDoji

    NoDoji

I'm going to make a big confession here which is going to confirm that I'm the misguided noob Surf and Atticus think I am:

I do indeed trade directionally. When I put on a trade my desire is that it moves a certain minimum distance in my favor before stopping me out for a loss. And I've found that it does this significantly more often than not, meaning I trade not only directionally, but with a large positive edge.

Give me time, boys! I've only been trading full time just under 5 years. I'm sure once I have a good 10 years experience I'll have the common sense and ability to trade non directional strategies with a small positive edge.

  7. I don't know what you do. I suspect you trade one lots in CL for pennies at a suitable risk. I only take issue with a one lotter in ES (in 2009) who found an "ATM machine" that earns 10x the initial haircut per year in CL. I'd bet you make less than $50k yearly from trading, so the $50k "opportunity loss" of trading the combine was foolish, IMO.

The "ATM machine" BS was over the top. Nobody legit talks that way about their trading. Posting 5x per day and scalping CL at the same time, yet you can't trade the combine?

I'm not the one with the 50k requirement nor the "ATM machine" comment. Don't make comments that you can't back-up.

NoDoji gains nothing from trading the combine, as it would expose the ATM machine. Of course the conditions for participation would never be met.

  8. a little bird just contacted me, I have no way of knowing the truth, but this bird said ---Nodoji and her crew are secretly taking the Combine to obtain funding-- If they are successful, we will never hear the end of it, if not, they will quietly brush it under the rug! Just like the typical TA modusoperandi. Always after the fact and late to the trade, never ahead of the curve. surf

  9. A huge positive edge only exists with information or structually in the futures markets. Looking at past price patterns certainly isn't an edge. If it was, it would have been exploited a long time ago. Who exactly do you think you are trading against? surf

  10. That's not true. I know and know of MR-guys who make 7-8 figures in curve-spreads. There are two guys on here making >$2MM a year trading curve from their homes with an IB retail account and a cable connection. Neither guy knows shit about the underlying flows or are any way "inside" on commercials.
