Just another day in Chicago? The latest, recent, and typical.

I LIVE in Chicago Ricter. I don't go out of my way to post things that are happening in LA or Miami. I post things happening here in Chicago because I live here and they usually are making NATIONAL news!. And Ricter, let me help you out here, since it looks like you need it, here in Chicago they are actually debating bringing in the national guard to deploy on the south side of the city and declare a state of emergency. Yes, it's that bad. Yes, this is big news and yes, it's relevant.

What part of that do you not understand?

  4. I think some people don't want to meet in person because it would then be difficult to drop bombs on someone you have broken bread with. We should not forget that face to face interaction is what saves us from killing each other via the push of a button.

I'd say that if this were the only such instance then you would have plausible deniability.

Captain, you are very right. However, I will say that I have met a lot of people on here and I still drop "bombs" on them. But they do the same and we are adults and we can handle it. In fact, sometimes it's easier once you meet people face to face and then come back on here with the knowledge of knowing the other guy is not really a fire breathing dragon or in Ricter's eyes, think I'm some stormfront racist. If the guy actually met me in person and had a civilized conversation with me he would know that. But no, some people would rather hold on to their belief system because they find security in that.

I've told this to RCG I don't know how many times, if he actually did meet me in person he would be pleasantly surprised at how pragmatic I really am. Some people though would rather just live in this fantasy internet world.

As I said, that example was only the latest. So if I keep digging I'll find that you post or support reports of "certain" types of crime only if they occur in Chicago?

Ricter, let me help you out with some basic math here. I have close to 15k posts in 10 years. Probably 4k of them are down here in the basement. Out of those 15,000 posts, I have posted maybe 20 to 30 articles or links regarding Chicago violence, which is a huge problem. So 20 posts out of 15,000!!!!!! And you see a f*cking pattern? Let me ask you something Ricter, do you see a unicorn in your closet? What about green men in your backyard?

If you're going to be mathematical, do it right. It's 20-30 posts out of 4k in the basement, since those posts obviously can't go upstairs.

At any rate, a small percentage does not mean a pattern cannot exist within the posts in consideration. E.g. 5, 7, 11...
