"I believe we are in an era of politics right now where people are smeared to take them out of the conversation." Regardless of whether he is guilty of this or not (and I have no idea), that's something that Gaetz is completely and totally right about. Most of you on this thread use this weapon regularly to keep the narrative in your court.
This is now officially a non-thread until some facts come out.----In other news, Christine Blah-Blah Ford continues to accuse Brett Kavanaugh without evidence.
Now, if only the FBI and DOJ were actually, doing their jobs instead, of investigating only conservatives and Republicans, then, we can ferret out the truth. Hard to believe these women who are credible and corroborate allegations against Andrew Cuomo and yet, the FBI and DOJ would not touch him with a ten foot pole? In any other civilized country, Andrew Cuomo would at a minimum be charged and in jail already, awaiting his trial. Nobody needs to invent evidence when there is a mountain of it. What about Jeffrey Epstein associate, Bill Clinton. Another sacred cow they dare not touch. Why?
'Completely, totally false': Former DOJ official says Gaetz's claim of extortion is to distract from investigation https://www.businessinsider.com/former-doj-official-says-gaetz-claim-of-extortion-are-false-2021-3 GOP Rep. Matt Gaetz said David McGee, a former DOJ official, was trying to extort him. McGee told The Daily Beast Gaetz's assertions were "completely, totally false." The DOJ is investigating Gaetz for potential violations of federal sex trafficking laws. A former Department of Justice official denied an accusation by GOP Rep. Matt Gaetz, saying the claims are false and merely a way to distract from the investigation into whether Gaetz violated federal sex trafficking laws. In an interview with Fox News' Tucker Carlson on Tuesday, Gaetz said that David McGee, now a lawyer at Beggs & Lane, a law firm in Pensacola, Florida was going after his family for money to help conceal the DOJ investigation. McGee told The Daily Beast the reports of extortion were "completely, totally false." "This is a blatant attempt to distract from the fact that Matt Gaetz is apparently about to indicted for sex trafficking underage girls," McGee told the Daily Beast on Tuesday. During theFox interview, Gaetz denied reports that he ever traveled with a 17-year-old girl and alleged the former DOJ official targeted his family and is seeking "$25 million while threatening to smear my name." In a tweet, Gaetz said his father has been cooperating with the Federal Bureau of Investigation by wearing a wire to catch those attempting to extort him and called on the DOJ to "immediately release the tapes, made at their direction, which implicate their former colleague in crimes against me based on false allegations."
We will wait for the indictment. Law school lecturer explains just how much trouble Matt Gaetz could be in https://www.rawstory.com/legal-troubles-facing-matt-gaetz/
