Mathematician says no to a million dollars!

  1. I agree! I wasn't suggesting people that win the lotto retire. I'm saying there are many things to do other than show up at some bullshit job while having millions in your bank account. The math whiz could have done much towards his research with his winnings as well. There is being principled, and then there is just plain stupid. Math boy earns the stupid award for the day. Of course, I'll be the first to admit my envy of the good fortune that falls into the laps of these stooges contributes to my low opinion of them.

  2. He didn't refuse a mil... he refused the Fields Prize, which pays on the order of $13,000. He's on the record stating that he will "talk" to the Clay Maths Institute if they award him the $1mm Millennium prize for the Poincare solution.
