Shoe: >If you want to believe that God tortures people in >a carbon-based fire endlessly, that's fine. But don't >expect me to believe it without any proof... I'm still too busy with trading stuff to respond in detail, but I just HAVE to respond to this "carbon-based" thing you keep getting deeper and deeper into. YOU are the only one who has stated ANYTHING about carbon based fire. Apparently it means a lot to you cause you have brought it up several times now. The thought "carbon based" and "hell" never even cross my mind in the same sentence. JB
Howdy. That's the traditional, orthodox viewpoint - I can't argue that. I was pointing out that there is literally nothing written about what hell is like. I realize this controversial, but I lean toward a SDA-like view of hell, i.e. that those that reject Christ are destroyed at the end of the age. But I freely admit that the Bible is largely silent on the issue and that that is my interpretation and that I certainly could be wrong! Can you give a brief description of that painting?
TFC: >Let me just start by saying that God has >NOTHING to do with the taking of life. Well...I guess that settles it then. I had no idea that the word of god was so rife with erroneous descriptions of his own actions. Thanks so much for such a well supported presentation. JB
Of course... it makes me laugh, thereby making my life more enjoyable Theists already provide much humor, this is just icing. peace axeman
I brought that up because that is the only reason that I can think of anyone would assume that the fire at the end of the age was designed to torture people endlessly. Here's how I think most people think: 1. We know there's a fire that consumes those who don't believe at the end of the age according to the bible. 2. Fires on earth are hot and casue tremendous pain to anything that is alive. 3. Therefore, at the end of the age people are tortured endlessly with painful fire. I'm not saying you think that way of course. I'm just pointing out that there is no logical reason to assume #3 that I know of from the Bible.

>I brought that up because that is the only reason >that I can think of anyone would assume that the >fire at the end of the age was designed to torture >people endlessly I have no clue why you think "carbon based" is the ONLY reason for anything. This omnipotent can create fire/heat however the hell he/she/it wants to. HOW it is created has NOTHING to do with WHY it is created and it's painful results. The "torturing" aspect is biblically proven from the mouth of Jesus among other places. (I will get to it I promise) The "endlessly or not" is a debate that I don't give a rip about. Threaten to burn me for 3 minutes, forever, or at all for simply not towing the "believe in me" line and I'm never going to respect you cause you don't deserve it. PERIOD!. JB
