And this may help a little as to what I am saying: in the Old Testament there are many passages deescribing some kind of large creature. When Scripture interprets itself, these are almost always nations/kingdoms. In other words, it's not a literal creature of course. It represents something entirely different. In the same way the "fire" is something we can probably not understand completely. That's just the closest that we can come to it. Imo the word fire is used because it consumes the object not because it inflicts pain on nerve endings. But, again, that's just my opinion... And consider this: the only spiritual fire" described that I know of, i.e. that's non-carbon combusiton was at the burning bush. And it did not consume the bush!
This might be a good time to clarify . I am under the impression that any criticism of the wording ,meaning. or any excursions into details of your statements or questioning of tenet is offensive to you. Now, I don't want to interfere with any beneficial disposition you feel you are experiencing and I have no intention to be offensive, but it is a public pool and your butterfy stroke is causing a wake at this end. You may want to emerge with your geniality in tact, I am sure we all do, but my responses are at least suggesting there is little purpose floundering around pretending to swim in a pool devoid of water... I trust you get my drift?
Funny watching how Shoe twists and re-interprets the bible any way he wishes as if HE has the authority to do so. Thanks once again for proving how utterly ambiguous and therefore useless this poorly written book of fiction really is. But we know... ONLY SHOES INTERPRETATION IS THE CORRECT ONE! Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight I can find numerous theologians that would disagree with your interpretation Shoe. Do you deny this? What does this tell you? That you are right, and they are all wrong? LOL What if they have PHD's in theology, would you still claim that yours is the correct interpretation? Hmmmm?? The bible is such a piece of silly garbage. Your time is precious, dont waste it on such poorly written mythology. peace axeman
your butterfy stroke is causing a wake at this end. stu ______________________________________________ How so? Especially if the pool is dry and if it is dry then we should easily identify who peed. Much easier than if the pool were full.
erm...If it's all the same to you, I think perhaps nonsensical but nevertheless repeated religious assertion might be less problematical than empty swimming pools full of pee.
Just started reading this thread so if I missed something bare with me.Nice to hear from you Shoe.Let me just start by saying that God has NOTHING to do with the taking of life.He gives life, not so He can take it away, but so that we may experience.Man brings about his own demise.God gave us everything to live and to live, not happily, but JOYFULLY.He also gave us the chance to have eternal life by giving His Son as a sacrifice.By the way"massacre of the innocents" is a great painting in Amsterdam.
Read my posts and you'll see that the whole point of all that I am saying is that the Bible is SILENT about hell. I have stated about twenty times when I am just saying my opinion and I am speculating. I don't see how I can be more clear. I just don't want anyone throwing a Miltonian view of hell into my face cuzz there's no direct support for that position biblically. If you want to believe that God tortures people in a carbon-based fire endlessly, that's fine. But don't expect me to believe it without any proof...
The Bible is meant to be interpreted by each individual so as to live a life that is Christ-Like.Mythology it most certainly is not.
Ok fine... I officially interpret the bible as it telling me that it is indeed mythology and should NOT be believed. It also tells me that Jesus was a homosexual who liked little boys. Wow...im really digging this personal interpretation stuff peace axeman
The bible is silent about hell?!?!??!?! Oh man.... your about to be shred to pieces again by Turok. I could do it right now, but ill wait for the master....its fun to just watch sometimes peace axeman
