Thank you for correcting me, Picasso! I see. The "could have done this and that" doesn't help me build up my skill. I will go for the replay strategy to gain more confidence. Just like Nodoji is doing everyday! It's going to be super hot in hong kong and shanghai! but at least i can put my shorts and mini skirt back on!
i look for pullbacks and break out trades everyday. the hard part is really to identify a trend vs range bound early...
Hi Matcha, First of all, congratulations on reaching the 100 pages mark on your excellent journal!!!!! I think you did well with your discipline for not over trading this week. Today, I went the opposite taking 9 trades and lost big -8.50 ES points. I started the day on the right track (at least what I thought). I shorted at around 1030 ET just right before the big drop, but I fiddle with the trailing stop and got taken out with a very small gain and immediately the market went down by more than 10 ES points quickly but without "po". Then for the rest of the day, I traded carelessly especially taking some shorts in the late day "melt up" I need to work on situations like these. Not letting one bad trade to impact the others. Ditto - let us support each other and work hard to be CP soon. I am more familiar with Granville Road, TST area and the Monkok shopping area. Causeway Bay is always very busy, I got lost every time I was there. But it is a nice place to shop. When you are at the Monkok tennis shoes stores, you can bargain with the store to get a good deal. Isn't that there is the famous "women street" shopping area nearby? I don't think they have wifi at Pacific Coffee (the last time I was there). They have computers for customer to use. On the other hand, Starbucks Coffee Shops have wifi for their customers to use with their lappy but they didn't have any computers installed. North Point Eggette sounds really yummy! Got to try that next time. I like egg puff. I can eat the whole pack by myself !!!!! Bon Voyage to you to the wonderful places in Asia. Have a great weekend everyone! --po
Matcha and I hit the bars once (the kind that leaves no hangover) The nice thing about doing the bar-by-bar every day is eventually you realize where your edge lies and become more and more confident. After hitting the bars for a long time now, I'm still only 30-40% of the way to my eventual goal, which is to take all valid setups. No excuses. No bias. The reason it's taking me so long to attain this goal is because I'm stubborn and opinionated. So the lesson from my mid-term success is that despite carrying the worst handicaps a trader can have, I'm still managing to succeed!
Remember what I said about "2 stage" run. Market had completed a 2-stage down run early in the morning. The chance for a big down side move is low. Then you know what to do... bet for a RTM with a stop.
RE: Wow! Thanks! I will definitely check them out! I have been to the SB Ocean Terminal one, always lots of people! Is there WIFI access in Starbucks Hong Kong too? Pacific Coffee Company: definitely WiFi. Not sure about Startbucks in Hong Kong. I don't think I had tried. But even if available, you need some accounts to access the WiFi. Not free - nothing in Hong Kong is free... Just buy a card at the local Seven-Eleven. Daily pass offered by Hutchison. Only HKD30 or something like that for a day. Not too bad. I thought you were only going to study from a book or your laptop. You want to trade in day hours too? There are several Pacific Coffee in TST area. One on G/F, New World Centre - right at the Avenue of the Stars. Not too far from Starbucks. One on Nathan Road (Miramar Arcade, near Kimberly Road). RE: Do you know if tradestation offer the asia future index to trade. Hangseng or shanghai. Then I can play with it. Or maybe I will trade JPY/USD in daytime if I am bored in Hong Kong... I don't think TradeStation offers financial index futures in other countries. There are other US based brokerage firms that do. To trade Forex you need a forex account, which is not the same as the regular futures account. Do you have one?
Ha! We can trade info. WiFi - definitely at Pacific Coffee. Just not free. You need a day pass or something from the local carriers. Starbucks is the one I haven't tried. Good to know they do offer WiFi too. (and I guess not free)
Read again what I wrote about "2 stage" runs. Today's was an excellent example. Study them some more. I have a file called "Printing Money". It is that concept. Bank on a second one if the conditions are favorable.
