Big Sister can fill us in on this. But I think if you work as a professional trader trading for your firm, and especially trading client's money, you cannot also trade your own account. It has a high potential of conflict of interest. It is good though to trade in a firm, learn all the ropes, then when the time comes migrating to trading your own account.
NoDoji, This is indeed a great method. You sure have a way with words, you must be a virgo. Matcha, ND's method of entering a trend in progress is definitely worth putting in your "bullet pouch". If you trade one market, over time you will get to know it very well, you will learn your market's character. During a sustained trend a market will reveal unique reoccurring tradable opportunities time and time again. I like to test things to death. For instance, what is the average pull back into the previous bar? If the new bar makes a new low first what are the chances of a pull back into the previous bar? and how deep? And how far is "to deep"? Knowing the answers to these questions (and more) will give you the confidence to take the trade, every time. <*)))><
Hi NoDoji, Thank you very much for your time to point out the intricacies of trading the strong trending market. I like your method of "stopping" into a trade to join an ongoing strong trend. I will try that next time. I do like STOP orders to get into a trade. I look at today's chart, your method works great for the 5-min chart. 1, 2 and 3 min charts have too many gyrations to take advantage of the bar relays. It got stopped out too soon. Thanks again for sharing your strategies. --po
Yes Matcha, I succumbed to the temptation at 7:45 PT to go LONG and didn't take a quick small profit and was eventually stopped out at a loss. From now on, I need to be more mechanical and "military" in reacting to the one sided strong trend. Thank you for the encouragement. I hope I will do better next week after a dismal trading this week. I fully agree that by piggybacking on your journal I have learned a lot this week from you, Boli, NoDoji, and Sis! I, too, am very very --po P.S. TO ALL: Thank you very much everyone for the generosity of your time and your encouragement. Have a great one to Ya'll !!!!!
Sweetie.. one of these days you'll trade with the warriors when you're really and learned the "kungfu". In the beginning, your priority will be building a solid foundation, strong principle of trading rules & TA & FA etc. You will be put on 'LIVE' driving a small car/account in some peaceful less traffic country road/less volatile stock market..when you're comfortable driving, you'll be given a medium-size car/mid-account to drive in a city.. when you're good driver/good trader..you will be given a big car/big account to drive/trade in a mega city/big market like Dow etc. Your Sifu is right! We provide you with the money but you can't trade your own account. Very hight potential of conflict of interest. Thanks ... i know i will enjoy my Xi'an trip very much! If my NYC schedule is not too hectic and if I can leave NYC earlier.. maybe i fly2 California & we can meet ..I do miss San Francisco and Sausalito
If sweet Matcha really relocated to Asia.. someone in this forum will be heart broken! You understand right? You are a man so i am sure you know what i mean lol
Thanks PO. Travel is my leisure interest. I have been to more places in the USA than in China. Easier for me. Driving instead of flying. I figure that I probably have been to over 30 of the 50 states here. In a few years I will be zig-zagging in the US continent in a RV and trading along the way. My idol is Jim Rogers. "Retired" at 38 after co-founding Quantum Fund, he has traveled around the world in his motorcycle/2-seaters twice. Very inspiring. My dream is to drive my custom RV around on the roads of Mainland China to zig-zag across the country. That would be awesome.
Let us know if you do. Or on your flight home tell the airline pilot to just open up the side door to let you out parachuting down. Landmark: Golden Gate Bridge. You can land on Crissy Field. Piece of cake! (Like they show in all Hollywood movies...)
Hey.. i am brave but not that brave lol.. i think i am afraid of sky-driving and definitely have no intention of trying it..Thank You Very Much! Actually i am a flexible nice person .. now i give u a much better deal.. if "heads" i buy you a bowl of hot & yummy clam chowder at fisherman's wharf... if 'tails" you buy me the a sumptuous san francisco fresh seafoods with a bottle of red wine in sausalito what you think? boss!
Wow... impressive, Boli! Jim Rogers has two little daughters now very, very cute and can speak perfect mandarin!!! ( i am serious, they speak excellence mandarin!) When I have more times, i love to go on the Sillk Road .. Dunhuang.. Tibert etc.. actually China has incredible beautiful scenery.
