  1. Thank you Boli for the quote. It applies very appropriately to the trading mindset.

Great job.PO! I had them color coded this morning too, hehe. I set my chart to bar chart for now. Candles drive me a bit crazy...

I had been pulling all the historical charts along with the trin and tick charts all together. Just as Boli said, by looking at trin and tick, especially trend of the trin. Not only looking at just the key levels, You have a "bias" on taking only one side of the trade. For example, if market opens, trin is high then starts to make lower highs, lower lows- trin trending down. Then we should take only long trade. Of course we should then look for setup signals.
For reversal trades, I don't think we can rely on too much on trin and tick. We got to look at all big pictures!
These two buddies play extremely well in strong bullish and bearish one way trending days. above or below the key levels. Our job is really to take advantage of those days. The trend days are so easy to trade and generate monthly income. We have to catch them next time!
Just my opinions so far! I still need more time to read them properly. Not sure why it's so hard for me to read them. Maybe I am old...

This is probably not directly related to your quote. But have you guys seen the Hong Kong Movie lately called "TIME THIEF 1969"? I cried at the second half of the movie. Consumed whole pack of the tissues. Anyway, the mom and dad worked so hard to support their kids go to best schools etc. and experienced the hardest time in Hong Kong. Talking about punches. They had the most and worst life punches. But they survived and survived great in the end...

Although it's a sad story, I like the scene that the mom seperate the chinese letter "shoes". Half of the letter means "difficulty," the other half means "greatness". Mom thinks "after difficulty there will be greatness. Dad thinks only how to survive "difficulty" after "difficulty"... They were very strong parents, mom stays positive all the time. Dad is extremely stricted and quite. They are conservaive but they are very romantic in an old fashion way! Whenever there is a "punch", they handle it with bare hands! They do everything to protect their kids. They fight back in life in their own way.

If anyone who is Chinese probably know what I am talking about. Sorry, my translation is bad. I am just so attached to this great movie!!! But I dont want to see that again. It breaks my heart.

Anyways, what I am trying to say is. Stay strong. with a great attitude. don't give up. Work hard to the goal and stick with the plan. Eventually, everything will pay off! At that time, all the punches and "difficulties" will evolve to the "greatness"! We should never underestimate our potential!

  5. Hi Matcha,

Thanks for the insight on using the trin and tick. You are right that they are good for trending days. Today was not particularly trendy, the trin chart showed 3 spikes to 2.00 that corresponds to 3 low points of the day. Also 2 clusters of Tick data below -800 that showed 2 low points of the day. I guess the extreme tick data is a good confirmation for imminent reversal.

He he, I like the monthly income part.:) :) Let's catch them next time!!!!!

Don't worry too much about not getting it 100% for now. It will come with practice. Focus on the big picture and treat the trin and tick as salt and pepper. The big picture is the main dish. :) :)

If you are relocated to Asia, you won't be trading the Dow right away .. only the warriors handle the eccentric Dow.. you start from the bottom..slowing, slowing move up to the stars..:)

yeah.. i think i am a pretty cool boss coz my staffs love me lol.:D

Too bad you and OP not in NYC. But there's always many opportunities where we can meet (who knows, i like San Francisco and Sausalito very much, maybe i will make a trip there ..)

In Aug, i am go to Shanghai and Beijing and later will take a holiday in Xi'an to visit the Terra Cotta Warriors. This is my first trip to Xi'an and seeing all the Warroirs from few thousand years ago make me longing for this trip. (have you been to Xi'an?)

P/S: if you relocated to Asia alone, someone will be heart-broken..:D
