Just let the "left" coast secede like they threatened. They can form their utopian (W)estern (U)nited (S)tates, WUS, and then the US could go popular or electoral no worries. Plus if you include Stein and Johnson popular votes; the ideology combination of Republican/Libertarian clearly won the popular vote. So lefties can rant but in truth... the socialist left ideology didn't win the popular vote or the electoral college.
The mass media are composed of smart people. So of course they know Trump is horrible. Why is anyone surprised that virtually every smart person in the US thinks Trump is a dangerously ignorant delusional clown? And I'm even talking about the GOP bigwigs. Even they know he is a scary joke. The only ones surprised at all this are the ones that voted for them. Of course they did not know much about him. Nor anything for that matter. The only ones relutantly supporting Trump are scum like Christie and Gooliani and whackjobs like Bannon. Yup, the dumb middle of America has gotten it's way. Watch the carnage now. God help us. And that's coming from an atheist.
And of course the GOP wanted single payer. Holyshit you are delusional. Seriously, take your meds crazy man. Wow. Black is white, up is down in your fucked up world.
The fact that this gets more negative media coverage than breaking the law, violating national security procedures, etc, speaks widely to the main stream media's priorities/narrative - and yours for condoning it.
Jem never claimed that GOP wanted single payer. However jem is quite correct in his assertions about the formation of Obamacare and the Obama administration taking the side of insurance lobbyists to ditch the single payer option favored by most Democrats in Congress. As I have outlined in this forum before, if universal health coverage is a desired option for U.S. society then single payer is the only proper route to go. There are plenty of good examples of single payer systems in other western countries (U.K., Germany, Canada, etc.). All of them have some downsides such as wait lists, etc. -- but all are vastly better than Obamacare. Obamacare was written by lobbyists to be a give-away to the healthcare & insurance industries. it backfired on the insurance industries when Congress rejected paying over $25Billion yearly in bailout money (i.e. risk corridors).
I didn't approve of Hillary's email handling, I overlooked it (old definition of 'condone' before the unwashed masses got hold of the word). It wasn't at all important to me personally. Admittedly it's foolhardy behavior on my part to think in such a weird non-conspiratorial way, but I have always thought that people who had been indicted, tried and found guilty were more likely to be guilty than people that hadn't been indicted, and were never tried and found guilty. But that's just me and my ignorance of the many dangerous conspiracies that surround us. It looked to me that the email fiasco was front and center before women's genitals became front and center, but I guess I'm forgetting about penis and hand size and how important it is for the president to have a large enough penis. Tramp at least, Hillary inexcusably failed to weigh in on the penis issue, has made it clear, thank god, that his penis size is up to the job. When what's his name came out and said they didn't find anything on which to base an indictment of Hillary, obviously a bold face lie!, the media talk shifted to how much she was getting away with compared to what would have happened had it been anyone else, then back onto genitals a bit, and how Trump wasn't worth what he said he was, wouldn't release his tax return, was being sued for fraud, and how lying about penis size, your meeting with the President of Mexico, marrying an illegal alien, and having orangutan hair wasn't nearly as bad as letting the Russians hack into your emails about how to make hydrogen bombs because you had a dangerous muslim working for you. Then when what's his name announced they were going to look at 'weener's' computer, the same 'weener' that had been previously known to have slept with 'the' muslim, talk shifted back to 'told you so' and that's pretty much all the media could think about other than genitals being grabbed, and a rigged election or not a rigged election. Then, after about a fifth of the vote was already in, what's his name said they didn't find anything on the 'weeners' computer. Then the talk shifted back to getting away with crimes if you're name is 'Hillary' or 'Bill', and a little away from genital grabbing and rigged elections. The entire campaign, from the primaries right through the election, when one of the candidates said he would only accept the election outcome if he won; thus shifting the media's attention briefly off genitals, was a thoroughly entertaining media circus, largely devoid of those boring real issues that the next president might have to grapple with. Over all, I thought the media coverage was pretty balanced between genitals and email. By the way, who won?
If Justice were indeed blind as intended, you might have a point. Since it isn't and you can have a sailor jailed for taking some personal photos of a submarine under the pretense of mishandling classified information, but Hillary Clinton never even getting indicted for far worse, I'd say the system is a tad one-sided and corrupt, and your premise is rather faulty. This entire paragraph was a waste of time to read. I don't even get your point. Do be a gent and restate it in a way that reads less like a tabloid. Trump successfully trolled the media and ended up with more coverage while spending about half of what Hillary did. As you say, they were more focused on stupid crap like what he said in a locker room as demeaning to women, while ignoring Bill Clinton's swath of rape victims as "irrelevant". The coverage was - in no way - equally distributed, equally balanced, or equally critical. And that was the whole point of my argument in regards to your original post claiming that it was.
