AMD to Cut 5% of Global Workforce in Effort to Reduce Costs http://www.bloomberg.com/news/artic...of-global-workforce-in-effort-to-reduce-costs
I do like this pick purely from risk reward basis, but think again you are early, need a positive monthly close to get volume behind the move. If you would have waited in SHAK you wouldn't have had an initial loss. You can maximise profits by reducing losing trades, no need to be in early in an effort to maximise profit.
Products matter in this market, you have to offer better price vs performance (including power consumption) than the competition, so if the company is split the CPU division will be quickly sold for scrap or whatever their patents are worth. Their GPU business is also falling behind since their tech is only catching up to Nvidia despite lots of "revolutionary" promises. They're still somewhat competitive in certain price ranges though. I suppose MSFT could be interested but they definitely won't pay a premium since there are hardly any other interested parties. They'll just wait for the company to be split and then get the GPU company for their XBox division.
you'r greeeeeeeeen Man I've got too much history with this one, used to be a speculative fav DECADES ago it seems. Looks like the whole Intel-Goliath Vs AMD thing didn't pan out after all. Go figure
