Markets to fall on warren win. That's what they keep saying over and over

The socialist surge on both sides of the Atlantic isn't going to go far. It is too unpalatable to aspiring suburban and poor. Many want to work hard, get lucky, and be richer. They sure as heck do not want it taken away from them if/when they ever get there. Rational or not, that is what they see. People want the chance to thrive.

The likes of Warren greatly increase the probability of Ivanka in 5 years time. She is making it very hard for people to vote Trump out. Amazing, isn't it. I admire her for staying true to her ideals none the less (though I do not share them)

    • So it seems like any democratic president win and the markets fall apart, that negative tone alone could cause many votes to shift from Democratic to Republican

    • Elizabeth Warren winning the 2020 election would cause the S&P 500 to tank 25%, mainly because of concerns over her proposed wealth tax, according to billionaire investor Paul Tudor Jones, who cited an internal survey at his hedge fund. Billionaire Leon Cooperman, who has recently been locked in an ongoing feud with Warren, similarly predicts a 25% drop if she gets elected. Steve Cohen, another hedge fund billionaire, forecasts the S&P 500 to fall between 10% and 15% should Warren get elected.
    • Bernie Sanders gaining the presidency would cause a “more extreme” market selloff of 20%, according to Cohen. Jones also sees markets plunging 20% on this news, while Cooperman predicts a similar effect to Warren—a 25% drop. Earlier this year, billionaire Stanley Druckenmiller forecast an even bigger drop, of 30% to 40%, if Sanders gets elected.
    • Joe Biden getting elected, on the other hand, would only result in a 10% drop, as he is more centrist than either Warren or Sanders, according to Jones.
    • Pete Buttigieg winning the election would also only cause markets to fall 10%, Jones says, while also admitting that “Mayor Pete” is his favorite candidate.
    • Donald Trump securing a second term would lead to another 15% rally for the stock market, Jones also predicted. Many other economists, including Yale’s Robert Shiller, have agreed that the bull market could last longer if Trump gets reelected. Trump himself has predicted an epic stock market crash if he loses in 2020.

  3. Overnight

    Overnight

Nobody is postulating what will happen in 2022 to the market, after Trump is re-elected, and the realization finally sinks in, in Trump's year #6, that we will no longer have Trump in 2024, guaranteed?

  5. Stop watching CNN
His rallies are packed wall to wall.

Hate him all you want, but the fact is half the country loves what he’s done for America despite the 24/7 coordinated assault by the left and their media allies.

LOL. Trump may very well win again.

Also, if absolutely -everyone- is -certain- the market will fall under a Warren Presidency I would suggest this could mean it goes up.

  7. You need to start watching a better news channel because if you think trump's rallies are small you are crazy. Call him whatever you want but hes done more for this country than any other president in 50 years! I'm not saying all he does is perfect. So you're telling me you made more in the market when that idiot Obama was president, I dont think so!

    that is interesting
because that implicitly means that Trump is not a psycho.
but i do not follow politics: is this Trump's first term as president?

  9. Market is not gonna go up forever no matter what the catalyst is, trees do not grow to the sky. Complacency is in, insurance is cheap with VIX back at lows.

Public (enough of it anyway) previously was fooled by Dump. Public this time (enough of it - but on the left side) won't be fooled by Warren.

And I actually believe Dump could actually get a popular not just electoral college vote win in '20, if Warren is his opponent.

Given this choice I'll go third party or like most years none of the above.
