One of my co-authors and I once thought of doing a paper on how the stock market reacted to events of this nature (or there anniversaries.) Preliminary analysis showed days of mourning tended to have negative stock market returns. We didn't go beyond that though.
So is this a patriotic rally now? I think tomorrow will be a selloff in reaction to my dog's digestive problems.
no reaction that I can discern relating to said incident... wouldn't call this early rally "patriotic"... more like a st oversold bounce.
since it happened on sat i guess people had time to accept it. It did hit a couple of aerospace companies however.
