On TomH's site today there's this...

I know he's just trying to drum up business, but a bigger question is Larry P just offering out his Map data codes out to anybody willing to pay...

I had referred to this brokerage in an earlier post. Larry P is definitely connected to this brokerage in some commercial way.

I have just read Larry's out-of-print book in which he describes the creation of the neural net which is behind his maps. He went to huge expense and effort to build it. I suppose he has not seen much of a return on his investment so by selling the rights to it to other companies, he will get something back.

I would imagine the Ensign people are unhappy, because they had previously been the only company that Larry had shared the maps with.

And I still think that Tom, ahem, "acquired" the technology. Having said that, he and Tom appear to be mates so Larry must be aware of what Tom is doing.

  3. Hi guys, I just picked up on this thread. I recently subscribed to Ensign and Ensign sent a monthly newletter highlighting excerts from Larry Pasavento's presentation in last months Las Vegas meeting.

Anyway, besides his own work another author he touted as most influencial is Mark Douglas and his book "Trading in the Zone"

Any comments on Mark Douglas and his book?

    Thanks

I have read 'Trading in the Zone' a couple of times.

Good book, the basic idea is to teach one to trade like a casino does - ie the casino owners don't care if you or I win a few $$ during the evening, they know that they have a statistical edge, and over time they win.

If you have an edge, then your attitude to trading should be the same, the current trade DOES NOT MATTER. Your edge will make profits over time.

Much of the book is about dealing with our beliefs, and the way we avoid pain in all situations, including the markets.

I haven't read his earlier work 'The disciplined Trader', although many people rate it highly.

  6. I think we may be missing the bigger picture here, Toms maps have the blue and white 'EW' logo in the top left corner, it looks suspiciously like the Ensign Logo and I don't think he's so stupid as to rip off copyrighted material and sell it on his website!

Does anyone here subscribe to Ensign charts? Are they any good for daytrading FX? I read somewhere there is a refresh problem on smaller time frames (5 and 15min), have they sorted that out yet?

    Thanks

I agree that Ensign has a very good product but in my experience there were just too many data issues to continue service with them. My biggest complaint is using there charts while trading Forex. I constantly had to refresh the charts which became rather frustrating.
