  1. Hey guys,

My question is to those who have made markets on the floor at one point or another, and then moved on to screen trading..

Did your experience making markets and understanding the game from the ground up translate into success on the screen?

I ask b/c i'm a TA with an options market making firm and I'm wondering if the tools i'm learning will continue to help me as the industry continually progresses to the screens..

    thanks

yeah, your skills work work off the floor, a lot of traders are coming off the floor to make markets electronically with firms like simplexleveragedtrading . the same skills traders use on floor, for trader for edge, hedging, position management are being applied with their proprietary technology upstairs.

  4. Thanks gorilla..

I got my job by showing the trader that interviewed me that I've always wanted to do this. Which I have..

Traders are like a small club of guys. They don't let too many guys in, so you really have to make yourself stand out.
