Where can I find how much volume a market maker does on a specific stock? either monthly or daily... Do market makers have to post bid and offer simultaneously? thanks
I assume you are referring to NASDAQ equity market-makers. The new NASDAQ monthly share volume report has rankings for each market-market maker in each market, including BRUT executions. See the following URL: http://emi.nasdaq.com/foyer.aspx?tab=shareVolume The short answer is "yes", but the rules are specific to the type of market maker. See the NASD manual on market-maker requirements at: http://nasd.complinet.com/nasd/disp...89&element_id=1159000682&record_id=1159006269 -segv
www.nasdaqtrader.com also, most large MM's and Clearing firms post their #'s on their home page along with SEC 606 and 11ac-5 and 6
