  1. Chris,

I don't recall us sharing setups but I also follow market breadth for overall market direction. Excellent work.

  4. Bolter et. al,

I guess some of these comments are directed at the charts I'm posting so here's another attempt at explaining the benefits of MD and how I apply them. Mind you, I'm not a daytrader, but do daytrade when I'm not traveling. When daytrading I'm looking for the easiest, most straight forward setup possible. So I picked a pattern (triangles) and also a reasonable timeframe that suits me (15 min.) since I'm slow :) There're couple of other setups but that's my bread & butter.

The attached chart shows the use of pivot where the triangle formed below it. Can also point out zero-rejection on MD. So that's a clear short. Only missing piece not on chart is overall market health as proxied by breadth. If one just trades that triangle breakout or breakdown they should do fine.

Excellent thread and thanks for giving me the opportunity to participate.

    Cariocas,
I didn't have you in mind when I made those comments. Your charts/style are different and interesting - which adds richness to the thread (so to speak).

    Thanks for your contributions.

  7. You are being nice today...I was giving you a compliment! :)

Having some fun with you since the day is getting a bit slow after all the good action we had earlier today (Philly Fed release was a dud though).

This shows how bored I am today....here was a new post I made a while ago........LOL..........

    5Pillars,

I also have been following you and incorporating some of your "delta shifts" in with my trading. I have a quick question though; when you took the long this morning in the ES on the delta shift, was the market profile level you were basing the support off of the top of yesterday's value area?? I just want to make sure I'm looking at the same thing you are.

I primarily trade the ER2 with market profile and there was a great trade in it this morning that was aided with delta info, I'll try and post a chart or two of it later on.

  9. No, it was derived from TPO charts I use in Inv R/T.

Yes...please post your chart of the ER2 trade you saw....that would be great.

  10. Bolter,

Are you saying that you weren't thinking about me? :p Anyway, I'm open to any (civil) criticism or questions for that matter. Another caveat, MD isn't effective without s/r levels.

I think 5P uses the same formula as I do which is: market breadth, levels (be it MP or pivots), MD, pattern, an oscillator (e.g. ergodic), and throw in an MA for good measure. That covers multiple methods pointing at the same thing for a trade to trigger.
