  1. Today may very well be the first day of the rest of my (trading) life. After three years, thousands of dollars and as many hours, I may have finally found the way for Mr. Market to reveal his secrets to me.

The market traded is the eRussell 2000. This is an intraday strategy. Time is used for entries. A variation of market profile is used for exits. Four multiple time frames is used. When 3 of the 4 line up like good little duckies, that is the entry signal. The grail to this method is the exit. Picking tops and bottoms is a sucker's play. Instead, when a signifigant move is about 10% underway, entry is made. Then market profile is used to monitor exit. The beautiful thing is this gets me out near the virtual bottom of shorts and virtual tops for longs. And as for stops, I only lose a few ticks. No more guessing or calculating stops. MP does it all!

Like a surfer riding the Australian Pipeline, I am riding the profit wave all the way to the bank. My bottom line may once again smile upon me.

Below are today's results. All posts are Central Standard Time.

  2. ok, so what how am I supposed to react now? well, first off I'd say congrats for crackin' the code :) Second, how about a nice writeup on your method since your post was confined to entries/exits. It's ok to tease for a while but don't crawl under a rock just yet :D
    Good job!

  3. what floor are you referring to in your nick?

  4. and How exactly do you know that you are seeing this: "...Instead, when a signifigant move is about 10% underway, entry is made..." rather than say just a whipsaw?

  5. Thanks for the replies.

Looking back on each significant trade, I entered at about the 10% point. Meaning, I captured 90% or so of that move. I didn't cherry-pick tops or bottoms. The move was underway and I grabbed most of it.

I visited the NYSE once in January '86 on a school trip. Other than that, I have never worked on any exchange. The name has a professional-sounding ring to it. It was only meant to deceive Market Monk.

This is only the first day of trading the posted method. This is not meant to be an exaggeration nor solicitation of any kind. Only an accountability to an unseen public.

The details of the method are kept vague for a reason: an edge is only good if it is not shared.

  6. funny candid answer.

if ur really on to something, scale that shit up

  7. Good luck with that. Maybe you should start a journal on ET. Keep us posted floortrader, er, hiddenedgetrader :D

  8. Tough day on The Street. It was a churn-and-burn most of the morning and into the p.m. A last minute explosive move put me ahead for the day but no where near yesterday's gains.

I average one trade every 15 minutes. Yesterday I said the grail of the method is the exits. Added to that, the method is self -adjusting. If chop, you're in and out for a few ticks. If trending, you stay with the trend. The Holy Grail of trading implies perfect trades. That in turn implies self-adjusting itself to market conditions. The trades are not perfect but it does seem adaptable.

The goal is 100 eRussell points per month or 5 per day per contract (50 ticks). So far, things are right on track.

  9. Very unusual day. Not only were there no losing trades, but each exit was also a signal to reverse. I got spooked because I was up over 20 pts by noon and I am thinking "should I take the money and run?" I hung in there obeying all the methodolgy rules for an additional 9 pts.

The Method. Maybe I should start referring to it as the "Golden Goose" Yeah, right. I do that and it'll be jinxed for sure.

Instead of the usual twenty trades, there was only 5. I earned more than my first day; not only point-wise but saving on commissions as well. Spooky, indeed.

I exceeded half my monthly goal just this week. Is a drawdown imminent?
