Hello M.W., I am believer in data engineers obtaining algos to produce and edge. Futhermore, more algos the better. I agree with you on this. However, question: 1. Are you suggesting that manual traders clicking the chart do not have a edge and make no money year to year?
I'm surprised by this. I thought Sun and Scat were proven and seasoned campaigners? What(broad)strategy do you subscribe to? I'm assuming longer time frame?
Hello semperfrosty, I program and back test algos alot. And I run some live as well. Two is currently in big drawdown this year. One algo is doing ok. I also manual discretionary click about 10 times a day. Whatever it takes to get to 100ES contracts. One way or the other.
Hello semperfrosty, I am beyond aware of the power of an algo. Believe me on that part. I probably spend about +10 hours a day back testing stuff. But manual trading is more profitable. Reading the chart is VERY easy I just like the ES market
If purely based on historical pricing data then yes I claim that after all costs factored in one ends up net negative. I can't prove my claim hence my saying more light would be shed into the true state of those gamblers if everyone's account was transparent.
Good Evening M.W., I perfectly understand where you coming from. I do not know any manual profitable traders on the ES of 1+ years. Still trying myself. But I can only speak for myself.
Hello M.W., Do your algos experience long periods of drawdown? I have 2 intraday swing algo on the ES and NQ, both been in drawdown since February 2023.
