In a letter to the secretary of defence Loyd Austin, Ms Greene said the "stunt" of the National Guard delivering cookies, after she confused Guam for a foreign country, was part of a dangerous and troubling trend of the armed forces intimidating civilians, harassing Congress members and attacking journalists. "Guam's congressional delegate, Michael San Nicholas, leading more than two dozen National Guard troops to ambush my office unannounced and subsequently video record my staff without solicitation or consent," Ms Greene said. The attempted cookie diplomacy was in response to Ms Greene grouping Guam in with the United State's major foreign competitors as she called for the hard-earned tax dollars of Americans to be spent at home in America, not "wherever", during a talk at CPAC. The Guam National Guard, for its part, says it remains a “non-partisan entity” after Marjorie Taylor Greene accused Democrats of using troops for “political theatre” in delivering the island’s cookies to her office. But Ms Greene called on the Department of Defence to withdraw National Guard in the Capitol to their home states, as well as remove the razor wire and ensure members of the military arent' used as political tools. "The National Guardsmen currently stationed at the US Capitol are being used as pawns by the Democrats in Congress. While thousands of illegal aliens are pouring into our country through the southern border, American servicemen are being forced to 'defend' Fort Pelosi," Ms Greene wrote. "This stunt dishonours the men and women of our armed forces by using them as a prop rather than recognizing them as servicemen who should be lauded for their duty and sacrifice to our nation," she added. With roughly 170,000 federal tax-paying residents, Guam has been a part of the United States since 1899 and people born in the territory have been citizens since 1950. In Ms Greene's speech at the Conservative Political Action Conference, she urged the US to stop sending aid overseas. "I'm a regular, normal person. And I wanted to take my regular – normal person, normal, everyday American values, which is: We love our country. We believe our hard-earned tax dollars should just go for America – not for what, China, Russia, the Middle East, Guam – whatever, wherever," Ms Greene said. "If we want to build roads, if we want to put money into schools, if we want to build border walls, we want it right here at home. This is easy to me; it's easy to us, but it's not easy to Washington."

A screenshot of an account alert says that Twitter has temporarily limited some of her account features, for violating the site’s rules, meaning that the Georgia representative cannot tweet, retweet, or like posts. The ban lasts 12 hours and will be removed at around lunchtime on Friday. It does not appear to include Ms Greene’s congressional Twitter account. A spokesperson for Ms Greene confirmed to The Gateway Pundit that the lawmaker is locked out of her Twitter account. It is unclear what specific tweets led to the suspension. The move comes as 72 House Democrats have co-sponsored Representative Jimmy Gomez’s resolution to expel Ms Greene from Congress, which he introduced to the house on Friday morning. “I take no joy in introducing this resolution, but any member who cites political violence and threatens our lives must be expelled,” said Mr Gomez. “I’m not saying this for shock value.” The resolution would require a two-thirds majority of support from lawmakers in the House to remove Ms Greene from office. It does not appear to have that level of backing. A spokesperson for Mr Gomes said: “Despite numerous efforts to reach out to House Republicans – and quite a few conversations – none of them were willing to publicly support the resolution at this time.” This is not the first time Ms Green has been suspended from the social media platform. In January she was suspended for 12 hours for a tweet telling Trump supporters to “mobilize”. A Twitter spokesperson at the time told NPR that Ms Greene had been temporarily locked out for “multiple violations of our civic integrity policy”. Ms Greene has been pictured wearing face masks bearing the words “Free Speech” and “Censored” yet maintains a second Twitter account, and has a presence on Facebook, Gab, Telegram, and Parler. As an elected member of Congress she is also free to speak on the floor of the House and recently appeared on Steve Bannon’s podcast.
