2. I haven't smoked pot in 7-8 years. I didn't find it enjoyable. It just made me sleepy and hungry. I really don't get it. However, I DO know that it's effects are minor compared to the effects of alcohol, yet alcohol is legal...

All that said, I have a better idea. Quit being such a whiny tattle tale bitch. That way your neighbors will quick kicking your ass and making you so frustrated that you come try to tough talk on internet message boards, and we don't have to listen to you anymore.

  5. I don’t know the actual answer but let’s do a little comparison: marijuana vs. alcohol!

Before we begin we should try to determine which drug is the most potent; meaning which drug will intoxicate you more using less substance.

“Cannabis has psychoactive and physiological effects when consumed. The minimum amount of THC required to have a perceptible psychoactive effect is about 10 micrograms per kilogram of body weight.[47]”

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cannabis_(drug)

So 1 microgram is 10 to the -6 of a gram or 1/1000000 of a gram.

Assuming an adult male who weighs 100 kg you would need 1/10000 of a gram or a little less than a milligram to start feeling the effects. (as there is no name for that measurement, that is 10 to the -4)

Marijuana is a solid, generally 1 gram (g) will get you stoned (give or take depending on the individual). Now some say that alcohol is way worse than pot. Sure enough, consuming large amounts of alcohol is very bad but let’s do the appropriate conversions in the appropriate units. Alcohol is a liquid and after all, you have to compare apples to apples!

So 1 gram (g) actually equals 1 milliliter (ml)!

    1 g = 1 ml

As such, one gram of pot (1g) needs to be compared to one milliliter of alcohol (1 ml).

Obviously, once you have done the appropriate conversions you can clearly tell that pot/marijuana is a far more potent drug than alcohol. As it is highly unlikely that you can get drunk/intoxicated from 1 ml of alcohol even if it is 100 proof (100 %) alcohol. The same is true for cigarettes. By the way the average marijuana plant is only 4.47 % THC. And alcohol varies from 5-12 % for wine and beer to 40 % for “spirits”. So as, you can tell, marijuana is definitely more intoxicating for the same unit of mass of consumption.

  6. Because marijuana causes white women to seek sexual relations with Negroes, of course.

    ___________

In 1930, a new division in the Treasury Department was established — the Federal Bureau of Narcotics — and Harry J. Anslinger was named director. This, if anything, marked the beginning of the all-out war against marijuana.

Anslinger was an extremely ambitious man, and he recognized the Bureau of Narcotics as an amazing career opportunity — a new government agency with the opportunity to define both the problem and the solution. He immediately realized that opiates and cocaine wouldn’t be enough to help build his agency, so he latched on to marijuana and started to work on making it illegal at the federal level.

Anslinger immediately drew upon the themes of racism and violence to draw national attention to the problem he wanted to create. He also promoted and frequently read from “Gore Files” — wild reefer-madness-style exploitation tales of ax murderers on marijuana and sex and… Negroes. Here are some quotes that have been widely attributed to Anslinger and his Gore Files:

“There are 100,000 total marijuana smokers in the US, and most are Negroes, Hispanics, Filipinos, and entertainers. Their Satanic music, jazz, and swing, result from marijuana use. This marijuana causes white women to seek sexual relations with Negroes, entertainers, and any others.”

“…the primary reason to outlaw marijuana is its effect on the degenerate races.”

“Marijuana is an addictive drug which produces in its users insanity, criminality, and death.”

“Reefer makes darkies think they’re as good as white men.”

“Marihuana leads to pacifism and communist brainwashing”

“You smoke a joint and you’re likely to kill your brother.”

“Marijuana is the most violence-causing drug in the history of mankind.”

  7. "Hooked: Illegal Drugs and How They Got That Way." A very good series that is occasionally shown on the History Channel.

The basic answer to your question is ignorance and racism in the early 20th century.

  8. There are so many things wrong with this "comparison" I don't even know where to begin...

  9. Sorry, but I think most of that is pure nonsense. It is a far more potent drug than alcohol per unit of mass of consumption. Why are you even bringing racism into this? Is that really the only defense you have??? Racism…? Pot is illegal because of racism? When all else fails, blame racism! Too funny! :D :D :D
