margin IRA. There is no gamma in a spread that narrow out to July. Vol would have to drop 300bp for you to make a buck in that fly.
@destriero, are you suggesting that some of the wacky margin requirements we hear about on ET, are due to some sort of positive trade expectation/likelihood calculation used by the offending brokers? That would be quite useful on several levels if it could be proven.
Btw, we offer Future’s accounts at Wedbush future’s that use CME Span margin as long as you open the account through a self directed IRA company like Midland IRA. Bob
@destriero and @Robert Morse if i buy a put butterfly 2380/2385/2390 for a debit of .20 and i buy a iron fly on the same strikes for a credit of 2.5 (I'm just throwing numbers) does it mean that my butterfly put debit basically is free? also in iron fly more expensive?
How do you buy an iron fly for a credit? If you want me to look at a spread, I'd rather look at real prices and all the legs spelled out with live prices.
I do not see you being able to buy the put fly for 1.00 as the midpoint is more like 1.75 or sell the condor for 28.75 as that midpoint is about 28 ish. These are your nets with the current midpoint. The delta is about -.03 but you make max profit at 2900.
