Mardi Gras, Made in China

  1. I just watched a documentary called "Mardi Gras, Made in China":

    The film compares the conditions of the people in China working for slave wages to make beads for Americans partying in New Orleans. I suppose the film maker's intent is to make us feel sorry for the Chinese workers however I felt sorry more for the Americans. The Americans have no idea what's really happening. The Chinese workers don't have the best working conditions right now but in free market things will naturally improve.

    A lot of the goods from China are bought with money borrowed from the Chinese. After a while, all these manufactured goods will be worthless. However the Chinese will use the cash they accumulate to buy American industry. Once that happens the tables should turn:
