  1. I call bullshit. 400,000 jobs created my arse. Regardless of the drive to hire 6 bucks an hour "Census" workers.

IL just hit the highs in unemployment in a while, FL also just hit 12% unemployment.

Pull your heads outa your arse people. It is insain to think that a lot of people buy this bullshit.

450K estm. and unemployment came in at 425K or so, loosing their jobs with the last number. Do the math and think for yourselves. Do you really believe that 9.5% or so unemployment nation wide? Try 12% to 15% current levels. 80% of those layed off will not find a job in the same industry as they had been working.

The "Mainstream" financial News is "Propaganda", period. Feeding you Horse shit.

Read history, the gov. declared the recession over in 1930, only to have the Depression fall hard for the next decade ...

  2. I know census workers who get less than 15 hours/week of work for a few weeks. Well, they are not longer unemployed, for a few weeks anyway.

Peter Schiff makes an excellent point on this kind of thing, the government can't create jobs, it has to steal in order to make anything.

  4. Here's how this plays out, my guess. Census jobs are quoted in the "job creation" numbers. But because they are temp jobs from the outset, when those people are laid off because the census is over then those people don't get counted in increased unemployment numbers because the jobs were temporary to begin with.

  8. not every business is hiring in 2011:

    "....

Faced with a projected $238-billion deficit over the next decade, the Postal Service board of governors approved the cuts last week and ordered Potter to submit the proposal to the Postal Regulatory Commission on Tuesday.

In addition to cutting one day a week from the delivery schedule, the proposal would eliminate the equivalent of 40,000 full- and part-time jobs, about 8% of the current workforce of 600,000.... "

I think they will have to let go more than just 40,000.

$238 Billion deficit over 10 years, how does this economy even function straight with these sky high deficits.
