Do both the ES Futures Contract and the ES Options contract both expire at the same time? Let's say I'm short the ES Futures and Long a March ES Option, do the both expire at 3:15 on March 16th? Thanks Daytrader85
Oh ok. That's what I looked at. So I'm assuming all positions will be cash settled as well then? Thanks for your help.
Watchout out for those qrtly ES options. I believe they expire @ the open on friday @ 9:30 am est. Effectively making the 4:15pm on thurs the last real chance at liquidity.
This is the same as the futures contract. From CME's brochure on E-Mini products: http://www.cme.com/files/EQ004_Eminis.pdf Last Day Of Trading: Futures- Trading can occur up to 8:30 a.m. (Chicago time) on the third Friday of the contract month. Options- Mar, Jun, Sep, Dec same as the underlying futures contract. Other eight months: the third Friday of the contract month. So, it's not at close on the 16th, but at the opening print. Thanks, cdn. Actually, it's the "Special Opening Quotation" which can differ a bit from cash. Here's their explanation: http://www.cme.com/files/equity_soq.pdf
