I don't disagree with this ,but the problem is the information in the mind of the trader and how he processes the information and information he processes.80 % of traders lose with their mindsets. You can give them profitable strategies , systems , methods and education .You are taking the horse to the water , by offering education andd training , traders need more of a personal coach (one to one) than a trading educator .It helps new traders , if the coach is understands phsychology i.e stress , emotions , mental prepartions of traders before every trade.Trading is stressfull and emotion related , the problems arise also with amyglada hijacks of the emotional brain , once under stress or emotional hijackings , trading plans go out of the window. Trading with emotional intelligence than emotionless I started a set and forget mechanical system , using a trade data input clerk. It eliminated all my phsyche issues.
You can be your own coach. There are few autodidacts out there but there is no better way as no one will ever understand yourself more than you do. There's the book Thinking Fast & Slow. Practice and Feedbacks make perfect. ... You truly don't need someone. You can learn it all by yourself. Plus there is no shortuct... Even if someone could teach you, there is no better way to learn than by trials & errors (Organically).
Been going to the gym for many years , took a personal coach in recent months , It made a big difference. You see coaches in boxing rings , boxers are under stress and emotions , why do boxers have ringside trainer/coach?
Trading is stressfull and emotion based and traders can be emotional hijacked in trading , boxing and many sports. Traders turn to coaches for a variety of reasons. Coaching can help you overcome weak spots in your trading, regardless of experience or ability. If you’ve a niggling urge or desperate desire to achieve something , a coach can help you. But how does coaching help? For some people, getting professional guidance is all about having a well designed training plan; others benefit from having support and a sounding board for their ideas and experiences. For many people, just being accountable to someone else renews their enthusiasm and commitment. Just the fact you’re paying for advice may motivate you more. One important benefit is that less time is wasted. Whether it’s stripping back on ‘junk’ sessions in favour of more effective training, or someone spotting your mistakes and finding ways to develop better technique, a coach can help fast track you to a point that would have taken years on your own through trial and error.
As a former boxer I will say this: Even an experienced boxer that also has the ability to coach others still needs a coach/trainer while in training or engaged in a match. Why? Having perspective from another "trained eye" is so important to catch hidden or subtle discrepancies in form or fundamentals. Basically, it's very difficult to watch "ourselves" perform...especially when under duress or fatigue. And yes, we need the motivation. Coaching for trading sounds great if all the variables are in place...not easy to find! Boxers are very picky about who advises them, same for golfers and caddies. My 2 cents.
I saw a boxer interview recently , the boxer could not stop hurting his opponent , he was not aware that he had become emotionally hijacked , his desire was to protect himself but the only way , to do it was to finish his opponent ad by hurting him to animal standards You will understand this analogy and how it relates to trading , when traders are under stress , this can only be tested on live accounts , they try to protect themselves and losing streaks on accounts , with revenge trades etc Most traders trade their emotions , the minute they open the screens , their emotional brain calls all the shots and traders can become undisciplined . This is where coaches are useful , for maintaining discipline and emotional regulation.
This is a scene where a trader is under stress , it highlights the effects of trading stress and trading behaviours. No trading plan will cater for this , unless you have a boxing coach at the ringside
Good stuff! Ever watch the movie "Raging Bull"? I worshiped this movie, it fit my style and my rage. I was an angry fighter, but still had enough self control. Emotionally hijacked...you bet ya. If he's trying to hurt me, that's enough justification to kill whatever is in front of me..survive. I'm not so proud of this behavior...as I've gotten older. As far as revenge trading, been there done that! I believe self restraint is HUGE in trading! Gosh, if you can't find a coach (or afford one), find a trading buddy...one that has a lifestyle of being organized and disciplined. You both keep an eye on each other...checks and balances.
I like how the other traders just sat there and watched...they probably wanted the guy to get pummeled too! He must of been an ahole. I agree however, the aggressor needs some anger/coaching management.
