many religious meat eaters don't care about killing animals

  1. question I have and maybe somebody can answer it:

Is KOSHER meat worth it? should it be outlawed for it's cruelty?

ALso....If cattle frams are SOOO bad for the environment......how much worse was the USA in the early 1800's when millions of wild buffalo roamed unchecked on the continent for thousands of years?????

killing is...death. no way around it. it's messy. making kosher/hallal/etc meat isn't only about the killing, though, it's about the raising.

"The God who gave us life gave us liberty... Can the liberties of a nation be thought secure when we have removed their only firm basis, a conviction... That these liberties are the gift of God? The bible is the cornerstone for American liberty." -Thomas Jefferson

"The highest glory of the American Revolution was this; it connected in one indissoluble bond the principles of civil government with the principles of Christianity." -John Quincy Adams

"We've staked our future on our ability to follow the Ten Commandments with all our heart." -James Madison

"You can't have national morality apart from religious principle." -George Washington and

"The philosophy of the schoolroom in one generation will be the philosophy of the government of the next." -Abraham Lincoln

"Our country was founded on the Gosple of Jesus Christ." -Patrick Henry

"The longer I live the more convinced I become that God governs in the affairs of men. And have we now forgotten that powerful friend? Or do we imagine we no longer need His assistance." -Benjamin Franklin

"While the people are virtuous they cannot be subdued; but once they lose their virtue they will be ready to surrender their liberties to the first external or internal invader." -Samuel Adams

"We have no government armed with power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion." -John Adams

Even amoung the potential so called deists we have quotes that give the nod to religion and christianity. But there were many other founders and conventions and I could give links to state constitutions. But I do not really want to get into a quote battle. I will admit that is funny when I type in the searches on Yahoo there first ones are usually the deists links.

  5. Take a map of the world, hang it on your wall and note the countries that have at some time had the Judeo-Christian as a strong influence in their country and then notice which countries of the world have free people and have prosperous citizens.

Those statements certainly did not come from the USDA. Try to be a little more honest.

I am avoiding trading during lunch.

But you see my suspicion about the context of creator was correct.

In matters of religion I have considered that its free exercise is placed by the Constitution independent of the powers of the General Government. I have therefore undertaken on no occasion to prescribe the religious exercises suited to it, but have left them, as the Constitution found them, under the direction and discipline of the church or state authorities acknowledged by the several religious societies. ...that their duty is to remain as their Creator made them, ... I shall need, too, the favor of that Being in whose hands we are, who led our fathers, as Israel of old, from their native land and planted them in a country flowing with all the necessaries and comforts of life; who has covered our infancy with His providence and our riper years with His wisdom and power, and to whose goodness I ask you to join in supplications with me that He will so enlighten the minds of your servants, guide their councils, and prosper their measures that whatsoever they do shall result in your good, and shall secure to you the peace, friendship, and approbation of all nations.
From his Second Inaugural Address. Thomas Jefferson.

"Creator-- Being-- who led our fathers Isreal of old." This is the God of Abraham Isaac and Jacob. The Creator in the Declaration of Independance in the Context of the writer's Second Inaugural Address.

    I rest my case.

I am throughly excited by my overwhelming and convincing victory on this subject. Who cares if I lost money today. lol.

The overlay is the point. Where there has been a Judeo-Christian worldview that at some time was or is a strong influence on the culture there is a very high positive correlation with freedom, of the people, and prosperity, of the people.
