    Yes, ***in China***.

Now let them try to build a high-speed railroad in California, see how it goes.

The tariffs aren't just on manufactured goods, they're on everything.

    Also on say, pineapples.

You realize you have the technical means to grow pineapples in New Hampshire, right? In a greenhouse.

Why don't you? Because its cost would be prohibitive. And for what? So you could stick it to the farmers in Costa Rica?

The US buys low-cost goods and sells high-cost services (and treasuries). It's been working great for you for decades and you have just decided to shoot yourselves in the balls to own the libs (and the economists, the scientists, the diplomats...)

This is not a bold move, this is the stupidest shit ever.

The reason it's taking so long in CA is because Republicans have apent the last 10 years blocking it

  5. Not exactly what you think. your profile picture is a Chinese character so I assume you know about Chinese culture. Whether it's their sincerity or not. Chinese people are hardworking and smart. They will work 16 intense hour with 500USD/month salary. I don't think US companies and workers are that efficient compared to the Chinese.

If shit went very very bad. Chinese people are willing to eat dust if that's what is necessary. While riot will arise in other countries. Thats why you never want to mess with the Chinese.

Agree....it doesn't mean jobs will be plentiful when these manufacturers start manufacturing here, by the time these factories are on line and producing, which will be in about 3 to 5 years everything will be ai driven and completely automated, there won't be a need for humans hence zero job creation out of this .....

More than half a century ago,
I used to see such logos on almost all my family's things.
I was puzzled/curious why China produced almost everything under the Sun and Moon.

Till today, China is still a giant manufacturer.

Yep 50% of their gdp is manufacturing....the US has destroyed that meaning we are literally going to see 10s of millions of jobs lost worldwide. The magnitude of these tarriffs is going to destroy economies around the world. Do not be surprised by one of the longest and deepest recessions we have ever seen. Equities to get crushed by at least 50% the next 4 years!

I know Chinese people are hardworking and smart.

Some of them might work 16 hours a day for 500 a month... in China.

US, European, Japanese workers are more productive per hour... but way more expensive, so it's more cost-effective to do many things in China.

Look at TSMC trying to build a factory in the US, or watch the documentary American Factory that someone (Vicbee?) mentioned in another thread...

This is not part of a master plan to move factories to the US. It's a shakedown. Trump will emerge richer, Americans will lose.

And now watch ***factory*** workers lose their jobs in the US.
