Mine's uncle is at least 3 years older, its her dad's brother and the two could be twins.... but he's owned by a husband and wife that are both professional chefs. I ran into them a couple weeks ago and I always ask how Ramey is doing (could give a f about their kids lol... but the dog....) anyway he is doing great. But they actually make their own dog food. And this dog, the last time I saw him in person was probably about a year or so ago, but he does look great. His coat shines like all get out and there was just a tiny bit of ribs that showed through. Lean. He told me my girl needs to drop a few pounds lol. Ok.

I think that's the plan going forward though. They buy chicken drumsticks when they are on sale and add a bunch of vegetables and some other stuff... he told me but I forget what else... they put them in a blender and make patties out of them and freeze em. Raw chicken. Bones included. I guess they puree it. I'll get his recipe and post it. Ram does look great though, so that's inspiring. I guess its just like humans ya know... if you have good genetics... its all in what you eat.

Alas, one time I trying to date a girl and in the moment I could remember her dogs name... but her own name just wouldn't come to my tongue.

That pretty much was the end with her.
I still kind of regret that...

So you know different vets have different opinions. My non-primary state vet identified a heart murmur in one of my three dogs. We had a long discussion about everything. Recommended I change her food. Had them all on a grain-free diet, thinking that was the good stuff. Vet said buy food where there is a science/nutritionist guiding the brand. Changed to Royal Canin the very next day. Took them all to the vet here, six months later, no heart murmur audible, thankfully.

Yes, my old brand was on this list.

    Thanks for that.
I think somewhere in this thread or maybe another one, I wrote that I went by https://www.dogfoodadvisor.com/
I have used this one for a long time. https://tinyurl.com/y8txjbhc
I don't use amzn for it, I just pay a few extra $'s and get it locally. It used to have a full 5 stars, now they (dogfoodadvisor) give it 4. https://www.dogfoodadvisor.com/dog-food-reviews/i-love-you-naked-essentials-dog-food/

They never used to link to Chewy, they were completely non-profit. That's changed. I guess that's ok since Chewy sells everything, as long as their research remains unadulterated. Never know though. They are giving Royal Canin 3 stars for large breeds. https://www.dogfoodadvisor.com/dog-food-reviews/royal-canin-maxi-dog-food/
    More research needed I guess.
Mine always, always has a good stool. Sounds gross, but I actually pay attention to it. We had an old-school vet when I was a kid, and he said to always do that. Who knows, but I do pay attention. Gotta keep her healthy.

I'm sorry you lost your dog. I know from personal experience how much it hurts.

I didn't see how to post a video of my sister and her daily bike & dog run, but here is a picture or two:

And notice the little wiener dog in the crate on the back of the bike!
They typically go 4 - 5 miles in distance most days...
The dog is trained to voice commands to turn left, right, speed up, stop, etc.

Sometimes my sister takes her amazon yellow nape parrot... he talks a blue streak flapping his wings hanging on as they zoom along... and my sister wears a pith helmet...
...she is local color in our small town.
