I used to hear: There is no bubble ... absolutely no bubble ... it will only be a soft landing ... it will flatten out for a while and pick up again ..."

Now I am beginning to hear: 2008 will be the year, 2009 will go way up ... etc.

It depends on where you're from. Here in the UK prices just keep going up due to a mass immigration from Easter Europe and high employment. The economy is doing well so there still may be a bit more in it.

It also seems that the government is doing what it can to keep the market alive by offering part ownership packages to first time buyers, who are currently stuggling to get onto the ladder.

Sooner or later, however, there will be no more buyers and the market will go for a dive. When? Who knows?

I'm not sure of the situation in other parts of the world, but it seems the US market has already taken a fall.
