They are trying to resuscitate that fraudulent voting rights bill. I will be urging both Senators Joe Machin and Kyrsten Sinema to vote it down when the extreme liberal Democrats bring it up in 2022. Last thing we want is to give Democrats and their RINO buddies more opportunities to cheat once more.

  2. Well, then you must be happy that Mitch did not do the hostage strategy with the debt ceiling this time around and let the dems have full rein to just move ahead and self-sabotage with the Build Better Bullshit fiasco.

Wayyy to go. No republicans to blame for this disaster. That's gotta hurt.

Are there Cliff Notes on what all that Bill contains?

These friggin politicians attach a name like "The Voting Rights Bill", and then insert bs like $20B for beleagured Afghani neighborhoods that we "abandoned".

  5. Yep, and if you happened to read that long cnn article I posted, you will see that that pissed Biden staffers/negotiators off bigtime. Not only the announcement but his ongoing appearances on Fox.

One of the things that is missing for the dems is that when Manchin appears on Fox he is communicating with his people back in West Virginia. They are not watching MSNBC. They think he does that just to be difficult and anti-dem. That's how it looks from within the Beltway Bubble.

Schumer is running around today saying he is going to force a vote to force Manchin on to the record so that he will have to explain it back home in W.V. Nope. It is the other way around. Manchin has been going on Fox and explaining it and he has already been hearing back from his state.

Manchin would not win a Republican primary. The majority of his base are democrats.

Calling him out and telling him to join the republicans is productive how? If he is burned he is t going to work with democrats.

They won't hold a vote because that codifies Manchin's position permanently and would be the end of BBB.

I'm sure they will keep haranguing him and not hold a vote.

  8. Manchin could probably run as an independent and win by splitting the vote enough so that he benefits. And from there he could decide which party he wants to caucus with.

Out in the real world though, Manchin is doing quite well with the current arrangement. Not sure why he would want to change a thing. Sure, he has pissed off an army of dems and pundits in DC. Okay, so I am not seeing the problem there and neither is he.

Where all of that would change is if the dems started coming up with punative measures such as stripping him of committee assignments or cutting off dnc money for campaigns, etc. Homey Manchin don't play that game.

I would not rule out Manchin changing parties.

Not a common thing these days but it used to be fairly common for people to switch.

  10. I hear ya, but I don't know what their strategy will be yet and they certainly don't either.

They will possibly play the charade of having a re-run of the same old bill - minus the sticking points- but under the guise of a new and different bill name so that they do not take heat for not giving up the ghost and so that they can say "yeh, that other bill had lots of problems, unlike this new and different bill that even Joe Manchin will love."

In which case they might like to see an official defeat of the current bill so that they can distance themselves from pushback on that.

We shall see. Maybe they will just regroup on this bill, keep on trying, and decide that this is the hill that they want to die on. That's fine.

The irony is that although the dems are going to get slaughtered at midterms, Manchin probably saved them at least 10 seats by helping to defeat this pig so that it cannot be weaponized at midterms.
