I use Excel to manually enter my trading balance at the end of every month, and then turn it into a graph. With withdrawals and deposits, the graph isn't accurate. How do I enter and graph my trading balance to take into account withdrawal or deposits?

  2. Only make a graph of your cumulative profit & loss. Your account balance won't matter.

    How do I do that?

  4. You should log every trade in Excel. Yep, every single one. Even if there are thousands.

This log should include date, basis, method, security, P&L, commish, notes, etc. With that data you can create any chart or stats you want.

Thanks, Wayne, but that's more work that I really wanted to do.

  6. Here's an example of how you can keep track of the aggregagate totals. You'll have to customize the spreadsheet to your specific situation for best results.

Thanks, but why ending and beginning balance. Isn't one enough? My ending balance is always the same as my beginning for the next month.

  8. It's just an example spreadsheet.

I don't know your specific situation, so feel free to modify the spreadsheet/formulas to suit your needs.

    Good trading,
