  1. I understand the difference between a "Hedge Fund" and "Managed Futures Accounts", but if someone took the same concept of "managing futures accounts" and instead "managed STOCK accounts", would that then be the same? Or are there a whole set of new rules that would come into play?

managed STOCK accounts ---- Good idea.

So what is "managed STOCK accounts"?

  2. Managed Futures and a Hedge Fund can actually be one in the same. There is a category of Hedge Funds called Managed Futures, which is the category mine falls into. Some others are, Distressed Securities, Market Bullish, Market Bearish, Market Neutral, Real Estate Hedge Funds, Precious Metals Hedge Funds, etc........if you want to get a comprehensive list sign up for www.morningstar.com's 14-day free trial and browse the Hedge Fund category. Lots of information on that site.

You can also find some useful information on: www.hedgefund.net.
