Where can I find a list of the legal rules regarding running my own managed accounts service in the US?

A cliffnotes version is also welcome.

  2. It’s best you seek a lawyer’s advice. There are just too many variables, whether the managed services will be private or public, equities, futures, or cash. However, if you insist on doing it your self, call these people and they would love to help you CFTC and NFA for futures and SEC, FINRA, for equities. Just google those agencies and it’ll take you to them.

You need to get a good lawyer, if you cant do this then you should not be starting the business. There are so many variables by state, markets, clients etc etc its impossible to make too many general statements except that you should get real legal advice.
