I am going to trade for others and receive compensation based on management fee/performance fee. Do I have to register as a CTA if I trade only index options? (According to the website, it seems that CTA trade future and commodity options). I am not sure if index options are classified as commodity options. Called NFA but they said they didn't know. I like to consolidate these accounts as a small pool. Can I set up a LLC with myself as the managing member and my investors as passive members? Can I have more than one program under the same LLC when some members receive profit distribution from one program (i.e. a brokerage account) and some from another program (another account).
