  1. Whose life would you live Hef or Warren? Hef's got more women from whatever wealth he is got. He ain't worth much compared to Warren Buffet and Bill Gates.

Why don't you give all your money away then?

  3. At some point money becomes a sickness. Once you have provided yourself enough to last a lifetime and many more, its an obsession of some kind, a pathetic quest for power. If you are thrifty and frugal at that stage, saving pennies, living in old houses, driving your own cars, and donot part from your wealth much, than your are some sick dude, wrapped up in some delusions of insecurity and what not.

It got to be sick after that in my opinion.

So you are saying, once you reach a certain level of comfort in your life and have more money than you need, then you should expand what you need. Doesn't make sense to me. I would say people who let money influence their lives to the degree you want them to are sick.

  5. I did not say that. People who horde money for no good reason seems to be flawed immensely. Specially the part where they dont give back to the society, or part from it, even using it for their own comforts etc. There is a flaw somewhere. Its an obsession of some kind.

Maybe Buffet was waiting for the right charity to donate to as this article states:

Because someone has a lot of money and is not using it does not mean they are "flawed immensely." There are many reasons why sitting on cash makes a lot of sense.

The great thing about money is that you can do what you want with it when you want. You don't have to burn through your money as fast as you make it. Everyone makes their own choice and for you to complain about other people's choices just makes you seem irrational.

  7. When people become public figures, all their choice become public choices. What they do and how they lead their lives are open to public scrutiny and awareness. Warren Buffet chose to become a public figure, hence he is open to the same criticism as any other public figure would be.

In this thread lots came out about his usage of money and the lack of it. He never used much and never parted with it as a gift or as a philanthropists either. Warren Buffet is not known as a philanthropist in my opinion. He has lately started giving it to Bill Gates ( another rich man) and his foundation ( God knows what that does ).
