This is an excellent, point I question the long term stability. I also see now that John beat me to the answer about the bitcoin network. Lets face it, the government is doing all sorts of crazy shit now. The amount of funny business happening is staggering. You see that J6 footage released which shows the "insurrectionists" being led around by the Capital Police? Its clearly an inside job now if you ask me.

The thing with Bitcoin is that its apolitical, and given the immense amount of computing power going into securing the network, its out of reach of any government to control or manipulate it.

Yes, all other crypto may very well be a fraud, but Bitcoin is vastly different. Honestly, its about the only truth there is going to be. Fuck, society can't even define what a man or woman is anymore, and we are supposed to trust the government with money? No thanks.

That isn’t worth anything. There’s no intrinsic value to any of that.

Just because you do not understand it does not invalidate the value of it

There is a reason they call it Proof of Work

Anyway, it's over your head, don't you worry about it, let's move along

Oh god. You aren’t one of those conspiracy theory QAnon guys, are you?

If so then bitcoin is useless to you. Who do you think controls the power that runs all the mining computers?

Wait, you're calling me a conspiracy guy but you're trying to tell me that all the electricity in every state and every country is somehow run by one entity? You think all the power is controlled by one guy or one ogranization? hahahaha...

Listen, if they turn off the power then yes, bitcoin has a problem, but so does every single piece of modern life.

You don’t think that a government that can engineer a coup can’t shut off the power? Each power grid is run by a public entity.

Its value is derived by the belief that one can use it to trade…. Just like a fiat currency.

So power goes out in one country... that will do nothing to the bitcoin network except temporarily affect the people in that country from doing bitcoin transactions. And how do you think the people in that country will respond to having no power for anything else?

Honestly, if the only source of attack left is turning off the power, I'd say bitcoin has won.

It’s the one that prevents you from doing anything vs gold or paper currency.

And it’s run by the very power you seek to avoid.

I think it's time to give newwurldmn a break.

After all he's the one that believes the government cares about his well being and protection
