I don't post my trading statements and have never asked anyone else to either. But what I have done and what I ask others to do is post their strategies. Then anyone who's interested enough can check for themselves if its a sustainable profitable strategy. Actually, I never check other traders' for profitability because I don't care if they make money or not, regardless of their claims on forums. But I do find it useful to critique their strategies for ideas I can use and have them critique mine. Lets me strengthen my own strategies. Seeing someone else's trading statements tells me nothing useful.
Why would anyone disclose exactly what they do? Please give me a reason. Again, how many widely recognized traders (not vendors, for obvious reasons) disclose how they do what they do day in and day out in its replicable entirety?
I have given two reasons why traders should disclose their strategies. One, which is important to me, is that other traders then critique it so I can strengthen it. I also gave the second reason, which is that it proves your credentials as a profitable trader. Of course, some traders also get a kick out of helping newbies to learn the game and avoid the mistakes and traps.
Befuddlement becomes you. Thank you for proving the point that mental fossilization is irreversible. It would cause you more mental anguish to attempt to expand your mind by thinking. Best to move along and keep believing the earth is flat and at the center of the universe much like your own self-righteous ego. An ego that rejects anything outside it’s own chosen limitations. For to do so, implies death or (gasp) there might be things in this world that one has yet to understand and that the current perspective could do with some updating. As suspected give a troll a helping hand up and all they want to do is drag one into the bucket. How’s the view in there? Prolly looks like your behavior, all ass. Let’s make this simple, if you are not receiving the results that you want, perhaps it has more to do how you are using what’s between your ears than anybody else’s p&l. But we’re not done yet, the minions will surely retort with their ‘broken record’ chorus with smug delight. Blah, blah, blah
They will critique maybe, but they surely copy it. So I should spent lots of money and thousands of hours, give everything for free, and create competition for myself? Nobody ever gave me anything, why should I do it then? I don't need that as it will only bring me negative things. I liked your posting #401, except for the sharing of my strategies.
I don't care if someone copies what I do. It doesn't damage the strategy, it doesn't subtract from my gains. I suppose, if such a thing were important to me, I would feel flattered by being copied. I also, like you, don't feel the need to offer evidence to prove my credentials as a trader.
I admire your loyalty to Jack, if not your judgment. I hope you don't take this the wrong way, but you really are stupid. I wish you well, but I don't think it will work out for you that way. Happy trails.
Are you sure you thought this through? Why is it that none of Schwager's market wizards, in any of the 4 books, disclosed any working strategies at the time of their interview? Don't you think that might have added a bit more value to the readers if it didn't bear any cost to the interviewees?
